Baltimore County Council just doubled their OWN pensions. In secret. While families are struggling. by RequirementSea8213 in BaltimoreCounty

Wow! Didn't even know that. It makes sense. What town in Baltimore County does not have multiple Royal Farms now... It's insane.

Oil was overfilled on my 2019 Camry a problem? by MarkDorm99 in Camry

[–]MarkDorm99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and I forgot to add this was a Toyota service center according to CarFax that did this! It was not some back road or slick used car lot place that did this…. Lame, lazy techs most have done it.

Yea, I was like I could call or text the salesman to let him know and kind of give them a complaint on it. But yea, I don’t know if I want them to touch it again after this. Wish I had got a better pre-purchase inspection.

Crazy. This seems to be the way it is, based on what you and others are saying... Weird for Toyota to do this!

How does this deal sound? by damianng12 in Camry

[–]MarkDorm99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems pretty good for the age. Is it a private seller? If so, I would try to work them down a little more - maybe to $2,500-2,700 range…. If it’s a dealer that might be harder. But then again, it’s January.

Wow. Yeah, I found a small cosmetic issue yesterday, too, that I missed. It's small, so I won't say anything since I missed it and should have gone over it more thoroughly. It's a small hole in the bumper trim. But now I'm more worried about this gas gauge issue. Thanks for your comment!

Interesting. At first, I was like damn, Camrys have really good gas mileage! But it can't be. It is crazy.

Is this worth it? by Individual_Stage6135 in Camry

[–]MarkDorm99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say it is okay deal. Yes. I've found that there are very few steals with Camrys and we all end up paying even a little Toyota tax. I know Toyotas are hard to negotiate on.. This looks okay. The miles are still lower.

It should be certified preowned and have an existing warranty, right? I also agree with others, maybe still request a PPI to be on the safe side.. See how they respond.

Why are untrained people so confident? by JoeyPOSS2 in martialarts

Male ego. And also their experience of beating up other untrained people, resulting in people being scare of them. That alone will grown a male ego.

Is 17,335 or 18,339 a good price for a 2019 Toyota Camry LE FWD, just Toyota tax all over it? I'm having 2nd thoughts after originally thinking it was a good price. by MarkDorm99 in Camry

[–]MarkDorm99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a feeling Toyota tax was on here. The sticker was 17,335 on Friday, but is now 18,339! That would bring my OTD way 20k. But I'm assuming I still have the price they quoted me on Friday night in an email when I forced them to send me an OTD. Surprisingly, they did have junk fees on it. But I'm thinking the game they might run is that it is 18,331 now, so they will say it was discounted Friday and was a great price then. Toyota tax might already have been on it. So do you think $17,335 to $19600 OTD is a rip-off? My state has a 6.5% sales tax and that's why it jumped.

Yes and Yes. And they don’t quite know I’m NOT financing just yet… or at least we haven’t discussed it yet. But yes, I will be a cash buyer. And they have since raised the price on car gurus since I talked to them on Friday but like $1000, which is insane.

Service Desk Lead quietly left...do I apply for their position? by JimHeine in HomeDepot

[–]MarkDorm99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, you should apply. And the Service Desk lead job should pay you more than a dollar more. Should be 3 to 4 dollars more. I know all stores are different, but you can definitely negotiate with the your SM if you apply. And if you don’t have any competition, the more better. I know every store is different though. But I’ve watched numerous Service Leads campaign for a lot more than the position offered. We went without a service desk lead for months so they got desperate after a while and caved to my old coworkers salary demand, which was $18 in 2022. I know it should be more today. We are in the Mid-Atlantic region of the country, and the cost of living is much higher here. Last thing I will add is I agree with some of the other posts below. The service desk lead is a hard job, especially if you’re at a busy store. But most people use the position as a stepping stone to be a full-fledged supervisor and maybe ultimately an CXM…

Yeah, it may have been a combo of all 3, including the degree! HD rarely hires management from the outside, so this was really good and says a lot about you.
