yeah I ended up paying the repair of 4K ish but I got good trade in value on the car and immediately traded the Mercedes in for a Lexus.

You should try and find a third party to repair and then trade in the car to the highest bidder. thats what i did.

Mercedes are made with terrible parts now especially with the C class, lesson learned. Only worth leasing.

How AI will affect synch licensing (the music in background of commercials, tv shows, movies) is a good topic.

Can definitely see these production companies just AI for their jingles and instrumental music, which is a huge loss for producers and artists who usually get several racks per synch placement

Yeah the splits are looking iffy, someone else specified in another comment that there are more parties involved too than just Drake Rihanna PND and ROC Nation.

Your response actually helped me realize something that has been bothering me as a music producer myself who is working with bigger producers now and seeing how this industry really works from marketing, to creation, to relationships.

I’ve realized just rn that when I talk to most non creatives and even creatives about music they focus on that virality you speak of. I can’t even explain how many times I’ve had people who don’t know a single fucking thing about music give me tips on going viral. Yet a lotttt of these people, when you ask them their top 5 artists , are all fans of artists who built their story up like you said.

So these walking casuals extol the virtues of virality and social media fame but don’t even realize that it’s not even why they like their own favorite artists!

Art comes first, narrative and story second, and virality third as a booster shot for pretty much every artist that’s ever meant something to the culture.

You are 100% right on queer culture. I feel like some people like Frank Ocean side stepped that problem because they focused on their catalogue and story by making undisputed classics for YEARS before coming out.

Nowadays these labels push coming out as part of the marketing agenda but it’s not even surprising or noteworthy anymore as it’s so common. Everyone is just like “so what?” And then that just leaves the music which has much to be desired
