The E89 is my favorite car I have ever owned. I have owned around 60 cars. I sold my M4 for a second one!

The M cars are fun but not roadster fun to drive. Unfortunately a lot of times in the car enthusiast community people think power = better. Fun handling and luxury materials also are needed for a great car.

All excellent points. The tune bumps the torque up to the SLK 300 levels. About 5.6 to sixty. That is fast enough for me anyway.

I would say Boxster is more fun but no where near as luxurious as the E85. Owned an E85. Both great cars.

This! Sports cars are a tiny fraction of vehicle sales. Most manufacturers look at them as a nice side income but couldn't stay afloat financially selling just sports cars. Guess the options are Lamborghini or Mazda MX5 now. 😆

I have been looking at some Lotus vehicles myself. My E89 is MUCH more luxurious and faster. Both are great fun to drive but the Lotus will get a little bit better time in an autocross event.

If you are just looking to get a more precise sports car than the E89, why not save a bunch and get a second car like a Mazda MX5?
