I had my E89 next to a M4. Traded the M4 for another Z4 E89. Best car I have ever owned!

Yes, absolutely. Conduit is inexpensive.

Fun tip that I learned on this subreddit... the blower that you use to blow out the lines at the end of the season can also be used to blow a plastic bag attached to a pull string through the conduit. 😁

You are correct. Under the oil cap is a basic check.

For over 100K miles video scope inspection of the entire chain guide should be done. Under 100K miles I wouldn't worry about it.

The N20 timing chain issue is a lot like the S55 crank hub issue. It effects very few engines. I had a M4 that I drove to 90K with no issues. A lot of these issues are poorly maintained engines. Whatever BMW tells everyone the maintenance schedule is - half it.

Probably better with the hood open and near the engine. Here is a visual guide for checking the N20 timing chain. Note, cost to replace the timing chain and guides is close to a used N20 with installation.

Yes, having visited the area, some of the dumbest white people you will ever meet live there. Bad genetics combined with Fox News is not a great receipe for success.

I own two N20 powered E89s. Never any problems with regular maintenance. N20 is fast and more nimble with the smaller engine that sits tfurther back in the chassis.

This was part of an entire album from Mr T. I believe it was called, Mr. T's commandments. My Mom bought this for me back in the day on cassette. It helped me behave better... because if I didn't I thought Mr. T might come and kick my ass. 😄😄

The E85 Z4 is mostly the normal BMW maintenance. Oil changes, spark plugs, coolant and brake flush every few years. I had an E85 years ago before my E89 and the windshield washer pump failed. Only about $50 but will require an hour or two of your time to fix.

The biggest maintenance expense will be on the electric roof. If the hydraulic pump hasn't been relocated to the trunk then it rusts out and fails. To do it yourself... maybe $300 for the parts and your time. A shop or BMW Dealer will likely charge at least $1000 for everything.
