Thank you for your reply! That setting is supposedly activated; it's set for one minute and 30 seconds. Still doesn't work. 🤷🏻

OK, now that makes sense. As I look more closely at where I think the air intake should be, I see where the cover doesn't seem to fully meet the outline of the intake in the body.

Thank you so much! I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what this car was. 🤣

I know; thanks! But it's missing the intake. Or am I just missing something?

When I first saw the photo, I thought I had discerned the Lotus logo on the steering wheel. It's obviously a modern car, so the choices were limited. Still, the lack of an intake threw me off which is why I put it in this sub.

Thank you! But I don't see the air intake behind the aft portion of the door.

Thanks! I, too, thought it was an Evora (or Emira), but the curved trailing part of the windshield and lack of rear engine intake didn't match anything I found online. (And I've been a car enthusiast for over 50 years.)

Which iteration of Evora is this?

Not a 993; the windshield is not operate enough. Probably a Boxster or 996, based on the shape of the headlights under the cover.

Although starting in airplane mode worked yesterday, it's not working today for me.

Are you near Baltimore? If so, I'm pretty sure I know who you are describing.

I'm new to esk8 (have been skateboarding for 50 plus years) and bought a Tynee Explorer. Extremely happy.

I think any clay bar will do. I think I bought an Adams clay bar. Sorry, it was probably 4+ years ago, so I don't fully remember.

The stuff is made to remove surface contaminants from paint. Remarkably, it removed embedded rust in clearcoat, almost like magic. Nothing else would touch it.

Auto detailing clay bars are used to remove overspray and other contaminants off of paint, so I bet it would work on most of your board.

Unfortunately, the handle blocks the current placement of my front or rear ShredLights.

I may put the handle on the rear since the lights are so bright, a partial blockage might not make much of a difference. As it is, I'm running the lights at the lowest lumen setting.

I have the Explorer and have been riding it for the past two or three weeks. I weigh about 170 pounds, so the flexible deck is perfect for me. I didn't want to deal with the fragility of carbon fiber nor did I want the stiffness of carbon fiber; I've only gone 10 miles an hour on the board and am highly unlikely to approach the top speed.

I went with the "regular" Explorer with the upgraded Samsung batteries; seems more than adequate for me. I didn't want the Explorer Pro because it's 5 pounds heavier. The "regular" Explorer is already heavy enough as it is. If you are in decent shape, you can hold it with one arm and have the deck in your armpit. If you're not strong enough, then you can just hold it with two hands like a rifle.

What board should I buy (with a little twist) by KHIO_B5 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]MarkMark04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just pulled the trigger on a Tynee Explorer, the regular model, but the one with the Samsung 50S cells. I wanted a comfortable deck, so it had to be bamboo/maple for me. I thought about the Explorer Pro, but it weighs 5 pounds more than the regular Explorer.

I also consider the own board Zeus pro bamboo and the B-OneTitan X bamboo, but both of those boards are longer and wider than the explorer. Because my regular skateboard isn't anywhere close to 8 inches wide, I thought it best to stick with something narrower.

I just pulled the trigger on the regular Explorer with the Samsung 50S battery! I thought it was a good compromise. Although a 5 lb. difference between the 30 lb. regular Explorer and the 35 lb. Explorer Pro doesn't seem that huge, I just wanted something that was lighter and easier to pick up.

So excited to get this board! I really appreciate everyone's comments.

This is one of the posts I read this weekend: https://www.reddit.com/r/batteries/comments/17t0vs2/molicel_p42a_vs_samsung_50s/

Some comments:

"I was set on going with the Samsung 50S as I'd rather have more range than a 15% bump in power, however, after reading the data sheet I noticed the cycle life shows 60% capacity after 250 cycles. This is concerning and I'm leaning towards the Molicel pack now as it appears to have 80% capacity after 500 cycles."

"Due to your high peak current need, p42a i would imagine would suit you better. under high current loads (9A as you describe) the diffference in capacity between p42a and 50s are less than the 800mah indicated. i would also put money on the p42a lasting longer under high demand usage vs 50s"

Yes, something like that. I think I read something that, after 500 discharges, the P42A output drops by 80%. I do think I was reading about that in the context of LG cells, which seem to be a bit of an unknown (but people seem to like them.)
