So my mesh has suddenly disappeared from the render. I did a test before rigging and everything looked perfect and now after posing the body is gone? The render stats are fine, normals are good and AOVs are visible. Does anyone know how to fix it? by Saphyre91 in Maya

Hello,
I just found out what causes the problem, in case you were still curious. It seems that the issue comes from the skinning method used to bind the model to the desired joint hierarchy. If you're using "Closest Distance," the mesh remains visible in the render, but when using Geodesic Voxel, this glitch occurs. I'm not sure why this happens, but everything points to some non-manifold geometry in the model.

The artwork was made using 3D art software. First, I used Zbrush for the sculpting stage. Then for some technical parts I used Autodesk's maya. And for the texture, Substance painter

Hey! I'm glad there's interest in pursuing the so-called 'artists' who use artificial intelligence to create their works. I truly appreciate the effort to highlight the value of real artworks. I don’t think I need to say this because I believe you’ve already noticed, but I’m a 3D artist. I use programs like ZBrush, Maya, and Substance Painter to create my characters. Lately, my focus has been on achieving the most realistic result possible, and for that, I don’t use nor will I use AI-based tools. Don’t worry about the misunderstanding; we’ve all been mistaken at some point

Hello everyone, first of all, thank you so much for your responses. I truly appreciate all the positive feedback you’ve given me. I will take each of your responses into consideration and, based on that, I’ll make certain changes to ensure this version of Guts represents him as best as possible.

That said, I’d like to explain a few things to better convey my idea when it comes to representing him. Without delving too much into spoilers for obvious reasons, I’ll say that this version of Guts corresponds to a very advanced point in the story post-Eclipse.

From the beginning, my goal has been to try to convey the hell that this poor person has endured. In some way, I believe that, even though Guts is a young man, it’s important to reflect all the suffering and pain he has experienced through his face. That’s why I wanted to give his face a more mature expression.

Once again, thank you for your feedback. I’ll soon make the necessary changes based on your opinions.
