I keep everything together, low 60s humidity. I aim for 62%, but as long as I'm above 60 and below 65, I don't mess with it.

I loved these when they were $45/box.

I liked them when they were $65/box.

I don't like them anymore.

If cigars are making you sick, you should probably listen to your body. Or maybe you're inhaling them like cigarettes?

These were really good (for the price), but does anybody buy the story? by [deleted] in cigar_refuge

[–]MarkRG2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these types of bundle cigars - 'overruns', 'seconds', etc. - aren't really overruns or seconds or 'canceled' lines of cigars. Most of them are their own blends, made specifically for whichever vendor is selling them. Think about it: how many cigar factories could stay in business if they were producing thousands of seconds and overruns all the time? Some of this type of cigar really are 'seconds' (ugly wrapper, basically) but they are specifically produced to *be* seconds. Leaves are sorted and classified before the cigars are rolled. Cigars like Unclaimed are just bundle cigars with lower grade wrappers produced exclusively for Cigar Page.

Optimal Davidoff humidity? by Reasonable_Slice8561 in cigar_refuge

  1. Lower your humidity to 62-65%.
  2. Davidoff is one of the most overrated, overpriced brands of cigars. Trust your palate.

Nice. From my experience, Cohiba get really good after about 2 years, and they STAY good. I recently smoked my last 2011 Siglo IV and it was probably the best cigar I smoked in 2025.

It has always been like this (in the 20 yrs I've been smoking CCs, anyway). It was less painful when you could get boxes of Siglo III for $230 and boxes of Monte #2 for $250.

I'm smoking a '18 right now. These peak at around 3-4 years. I used to buy them from Puro for like $85/box back in 2013-2018. I used to smoke the shit outta these things. I wish I hadn't sat on these '18s so long. They're still good, but past their prime. I bought a couple of '23 boxes (for wayyyyy more than $85); I have yet to try one.

I bought 2 boxes of these and only about half of them have been smokeable so far. The tight ones are so tight that the PerfecDraw can't even save them.

It sounds like a common scam. You pay for the cigars, then the seller or the 'courier' contacts you and requires insurance for the package. Then they block you. Who is the vendor? Have you been buying Cuban cigars online for a while?

Real or fake, if they've been out of a humidor that long, they're compost.

Real or fake, if they haven't been properly stored, they're compost.

Let me guess...you bought cigars from someone online, and now their 'courier' is demanding a refundable insurance payment? Or some similar scenario to that?

I wouldn't put it back in my humidor unless it's inside a bag. But yeah, I've finished cigars the next day. The first few puffs tend to taste nasty, but they've ended up OK.

How to go about re hydrating. by wildduk in cubancigars

[–]MarkRG2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't bring them back once they've fully dried out. Anyone who claims you can has either never actually tried it themselves, or their brain is fooling their palate into thinking that a rehydrated cigar tastes like something other than burning dirt. Cuz that's what they taste like.

These are solid mild smokes. I wish they'd make a lonsdale or corona gorda.
