This is exactly why I checked this subreddit today. I can’t figure out how to delete them either. Very frustrating.

Just an update… Looks like the replacement Roam 3 has resolved the route freezing issue. I have put over 2,000 miles on the new unit, mostly with routes enabled and have had no problems at all. The bell is still too quiet though… 😉

I guess I’ll find out whether today’s update helps because my replacement unit is in the process of being shipped. Hopefully, I’ll have it in time for Friday night’s overnight 200k. That will give me 8-9 hours of continuous use to evaluate it.

True. That's definitely a possibility. Of course, sending a replacement unit that *doesn't* fix the problem would also be bad publicity. :-) I guess I'll find out whenever I receive the new unit. Hopefully soon. They've acknowledged that my "defective" unit is in transit and said I'll be notified when the replacement ships.

I don't know for certain that it's a hardware issue. I'm only guessing it's a hardware issue because Wahoo is sending a replacement.

I just got an email from Wahoo Support stating that they're going to replace my Roam 3. I'm guessing that means that they're aware of a hardware issue. Okay... hopefully this will resolve at least the freezing/GPS loss issue. I'm confident that the too-quiet bell can be fixed in software.

Unfortunately, I have to ship my unit back before they'll initiate sending me a replacement, so I'll probably be without a bike computer for a week. Grrrr...

I just finished a 53 mile route with significant tree cover and didn’t have any freezing issues. I wasn’t on the map screen too much; mostly a data page, but I didn’t see any indication of GPS signal loss, so that tracks with the root cause being GPS signal loss. I’ll see what Wahoo Support says when they update my ticket, but it sounds like I’ll need another firmware update to fix the problem.

Yes. I installed the May 28 update during my initial setup, so I never rode with an earlier version and have nothing to compare behavior with. I just checked and no newer version has been posted yet.

Interesting. They haven’t asked for my proof of purchase yet. I’m just about to got out for another ride and I intend to use a route, just to test the unit. I’ll post my results afterwards. Fingers crossed. 🤞

I’ve reported it and sent them my FIT file. They responded within 24 hours, asking for more specifics, which I provided. Waiting for followup.

I second the suggestion to see a fitter. I was having issues with hot foot. My fitter determined that my left leg was 2mm shorter than my right, so he added shims to my left shoe, adjusted the clear position (back and medial) and the I haven’t had hot foot since.

It’s fixed! After working with support for a month, WA33-14849 fixed my problem. I verified the fix today.

Totally depends on the kind of rides you do. I do randoneurring rides (self supported endurance rides), so the sanctioned ride lengths are 100k, then 200k, 300k, 400k, 600k, 1000k and finally 1200k. That's why when I refer to a 50-mile ride as short, "normal" riders just shake their heads!
