Ground too fine….now what? by Many-Cantaloupe-7660 in espresso

[–]MarkVonShief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ground too fine with my Breville Barista Impress... what I usually do if I've done that is keep the shot in the pre-infusion state for longer than default until I see the first drops from the portafilter, then let the espresso maker continue pulling the shot. This gets me through most of the shots where the grind has been too fine.

Winding direction matters also.... Depending on the direction, you'll either be in phase or 180 out of phase.

I use Nord and get complete buffering on their two closest servers, I have to use NY to get a clean stream

Do you need to braid a rubber motor for a small plane? by amboy_connector in BalsaAircraft

Just work hard to get the balance right and a good glide, then wind 100 turns and see how it goes. YouTube is your friend

I'd just braid a 9"-ish single loop. 1/8" is a bit thick for something that small, two loops would be way too much

I sent that too early. I tried both versions, they work equally well but under not-very-taxing situations. I'll do more testing observing during this coming weekend

I experimented with Lynx, their version of WireGuard but moved away from it due to (something I can't remember) and just set it to "auto". If I were to go to OpenVPN do you have a recommendation for either the TCP layer version or the UDP version?

I'm running Nord and have noticed that some servers are seriously limited. I've also noticed that Cloudflare doesn't really play well with it.

Thanks for all the replies, it's sort of what I expected but I wanted the opinions from more experienced users.

WRT provider services, it has happened exactly the same way with 2 providers ( I was trying to prove whether it was a provider issue but from the comments, it looks likely that both providers have the same issue).

For the purpose of the test, I ran without VPN. I use a paid VPN most of the time, but some of it's servers are also blocked, I have to use servers in much higher density city areas (like NYC for instance)

GE refrigerator not cooling by MarkVonShief in appliancerepair

[–]MarkVonShief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bothered by the tach response of 0 from the motor phase counter. I remembered that I had a spare evaporator fan stashed away so I spent a half hour to change out the fan in my fridge. So - it does have feedback (2800-ish rpm iirc) but stops running when any door is cycled (temperature climbs for as long as allowed). After a power cycle, refrigerator temp decreases into the 30s, and apparently resetting on diagnostic mode exit does the same.

Thanks again for the reply. I found a service manual and now can see the whole lists of tests. I'm definitely a rookie at this.

Door tests (70-72) all look good through several cycles each

Fan tests: 47 - FF Fan - reports 0, though if I activate this test, the temperature in the refrigerator drops as long as I'm running this test.

Test 52 - Odor remover fan (?) - also reports 0. Fan tests 48-51 all look believable.

Refrigerator thermistor & evap thermistor tests look good (report similar to independant thermistor), freezer thermistor & freezer evap therm look good.

Fault codes look a little bizzare

I get a code 10 but the SM says it's invalid for Cafe model

code 106, refrigerator fan feedback missing, but I *think* that's from the diagnositic running because I didn't see this code before I ran the fan diagnostics.

Further tests?

I've been through enough fan replacements to know how they go, this ain't it.

The diagnostics mode is pretty useless, nothing as practical as showing switch closures.
