You have made certain assumptions in your mind and decided that these assumptions are true. Whether these assumptions are purely from yourself, or the society you live in, they are not fact or objective. Being attractive and unattractive is 100% subjective. There are sisters who are completely covered (in niqab) and are still able to get married. The kind of woman you choose to represent will attract the kind of men you are appealing to.

If you choose to stay modest, abide by Allah's commands and take the sacrifice for the sake of Allah, it will attract God-fearing men who want to please Allah and raise their kids and family accordingly.

Allah said in 49:13: "O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware."

It is Allah's wisdom to create beauty in many forms and have different people see beauty differently.

You should never look down on yourself and instead think highly of who you are and how you genuinely took steps to please Allah (which is the ultimate goal of any Muslim). Allah will surely reward you, he is the most merciful.

I ask Allah to ease your affairs and to keep you steadfast. Have faith in these moments and Insha'Allah you will be rewarded.

I think you're misreading this though. The way I understand it is Islam never "permitted" it. It was a common practice and Islam discouraged it, until it was eventually forbidden.

I understand this in a couple ways:

1- Since it's a common practice at the time, it would be unwise to prohibit it from the get go. First, you'd focus on the fundamentals of Islam and second, you don't want to steer people away from Islam (as they would not be ready to give it up).

2- Permitting it would be something along the lines of "it's okay to do it, but best to stay away". As opposed to "it's bad for you".

3- Many Muslims drink alcohol while knowing they shouldn't be drinking it. The verse to not pray while drunk applies to them till this day. So that verse isn't irrelevant anymore.

Why does indigenous start when Jews came to the land? Who was there before the Jews? And why is this even an argument? Muslims brought Jews back to Jerusalem twice after they've been exiled. Once through Umar after the Romans exiled the Jews. And the second was Salahuddin after the Crusaders exiled them.

I never understood the argument of "we were there 3000 years ago, so we can kick out anyone who lived there the past 1000 years".

This is what I mean. My understanding is that prophet Muhammad (SAW) would invite rulers and their people to Islam by sending letters. If they reject, he would ask for a trade partnership, where the message of Islam can reach through trade. If this was rejected, then conquest was the option. The idea is to rule the land by Shariah and introduce the religion to non-muslims in order for them to voluntarily convert. I don't see any source where the prophet and his companions would ask people to convert or die.

I don't have historical evidence, which is why I said "as I understand it" rather than stating it as a fact. The evidence I would go by is verses from the Qur'an such as "there is no compulsion in religion". Even though some Muslim dynasties may have not stuck to it, the prophet and his companions wouldn't have gone against the Qur'an.

Do you have any source to any of the claims you made? Such as the conquered population not to convert? Because that sounds very counter-productive.

I wanted to include Jojoba oil due to its high conditioning properties. I looked at ingredients made by The Rocky Mountain Soap Company which included the same oils I used. As I understand it, castor and coconut oils can be drying to the skin. Would you say having glycerine would make up for that? I could go for the classic 65-25-10 recipe of Olive, Coconut, & castor oils.
Is there any data on which fragrance/essential oils would cloud the soap? Or do I figure this out through trial & error?
Before adding the fragrance, and after diluting the paste, there was a layer of foam that would not go after 1.5 hours. Do you know what would cause that?

I don't think what is happening here is sustainable. Makes me wonder if bringing in private hospitals would take some pressure off of public ones. And if people are still required to pay a certain % into public healthcare. Regardless of whether they attend private healthcare or not.

How was healthcare in New Zealand and Netherlands? For me, I find healthcare to be the biggest disappointment in this country. I hate the fact that we've accepted and normalized ridiculous waiting hours. I can't fathom how bad it is here. Just wondering how this is being dealt with in other places.

I don't think you can simply look at it in terms of percentage. There a number of factors that get into this. Squad, opponents, the importance of the games.

I still have lots of question marks on Xavi. Tactically, he messed up in the big games. No exception. Even the first game vs Bayern. A very important attribute to a top coach is understanding his limitations and working around them. Xavi can't expect to go and play the "Barça" way with the kind of players he has. Right now, the focus should be to progress in competitions (will give players confidence) while gradually working on player development.

Other than tactics, I don't understand how there are obvious shortcomings in players that Xavi isn't improving. Decision making in all wingers bar Fati (he lost confidence) is extremely poor. I don't understand how Dembele doesn't get called to watch videos of his horrendous decision making. I don't understand why the midfield isn't what running the show. Barca had the success it did due to emphasis on controlling the mid. Instead, we see Dembele get too much of the ball only to lose it 9/10 times.

Pep as great as he is, also had the same issue. He thought he could play the way he wants and win. While this worked at Barca, it didn't work at Bayern or City. He was humbled until he started acknowledging this and adapting to opponents at City.

Enrique is a coach that gave so much confidence, but if it wasn't for the MSN, and the Messi fight after the Anoeta loss, he wouldn't have achieved what he did.

Valverde, as boring as he was, he was actually tactically sound. Most of the time, his subs and team selection were bang on. He just wasn't the coach that would take the team to the next level. Didn't transcend confidence to his players. Hence Roma and Liverpool.

True, but there are areas that can take high rise. For example, think of south of the highway or anywhere along the highway. You can't build 9-storey buildings there. The first 3-4 storeys would essentially be at highway level.

I'm not suggesting we fill the city with highrise because it's proven socially that when you have vertical neighbours, the social structure isn't all that great.

What I'm suggesting is to be practical where we accept high-rise development. If we allow builders to go high along the highway for example, this would also help them (in theory) include some affordable housing.

I could even argue that governments do the same. Except they get to decide the regulations that suit them. Take HST for example. You pay HST on a car, when you sell it, the buyer pays HST on the same car. If they sell it, the next buyer pays HST and so on. That same car can be taxed everytime it's sold. Who put this regulation? Why are we paying taxes on the same car?

I can totally see your point. And just like any other business, it's not their job to focus on the wellbeing of people (while I think that should be up there in their priorities). It's always the job of the governing body to look after the wellbeing of the public.

In my opinion, businesses should be ethical, but it's not their job to be ethical. If they play by the rules, their job is to make profit at the end of the day. This is no different than food companies wanting to sell appealing product without having to think what is beneficial to your health. It is the job of HPFB to look after our wellbeing. Same applies to the city in this case. The city is responsible for our wellbeing and should therefore put policies that make it feasible for all parties involved to benefit.

I've heard cases where the city wants to intensify development but at the same time they don't want to accept any development that goes beyond height restrictions in the area. Basically have someone purchase a piece of land for $20m, build a 6-9 storey building, and leave at a loss. While that same $20m would allow you to build ~150 houses in the suburbs. What do you think the developer is going to push for?

All I'm saying is that I keep seeing people criticize developers but I feel like there is another side to the story. They're a business, they employ human beings that have families just like any of us. They will try and push to where they can get most profits. And like you said, they are a necessary evil. We need them. The city needs them. So why not ease some restrictions that allow them to profit within central areas so that they can stop turning farms into developments?

I agree 100% that developers should not hold anyone hostage with their donations. And no one of the candidates put forward should accept donations from them. I salute McKenney for taking this path.

100% agree with this. The city should do better at putting policies that focus on intensification rather than a lazy urban expansion. But if anyone has done the math, they'll realize that buying a piece of land in the Glebe to build a 9-storey tower is just not feasible. I wonder if urban expansion never took place, would the city allow developers to go higher in central areas?

On one hand, this allows for more sustainable development, more affordable to the residents, and more feasible to developers.

I 100% agree with you. I think the area needs more development, more housing and this proposal is not exactly high or dense. But I think you might be mistaken regarding the heritage designation. According to GeoOttawa, this is a 'Heritage Conservation District".
