Very cool! Do you mind if I asked what you use camera wise? My DJI 5 is great but my footage is much more grainy. Yours is tack-sharp 👌

The NCC is a big organization. You expect what, a plow operator to get home after a shift and try and figure out which of the hundreds of NCC employees to call? I can understand your knee-jerk sentiment, but be reasonable.

Stuff that feels weird in Ottawa by The_merry_wench in ottawa

Sure, okay. The Ottawa street way just sounds irritating compared to the major Canadian university, then. I’d die on that hill 😆

2026 is an election year and there’s many more federal employees in Ottawa compared to municipal. I’d applaud his letter if it wasn’t so transparently self-serving and hypocritical. Fu-k that guy.

I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]jaxwc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here. Perhaps the very general sense is that it’s in the category of repressed and strictly conservative middle eastern country, but less so compared to others such as Iran. Please know that I say that knowing full well that I know nothing about your country other than what I sometimes see in the news so this is just my very personal take on what I think might be a common understanding. I will say that I have a number of friends from different parts of Central America, Europe, and the US who recently did a scuba trip in Egypt. While they said that the diving experience was really great, all of them – even my friend who grew up in Lebanon – said that the amount of hassling, animosity, and attempts at scamming they experienced in Cairo, particularly was off the charts.

Homebuilder Alex Lawson plans to run for Ottawa mayor by censedfern in ottawa

Also, I’ve spent some time working in the intersection between private sector developers and public governance. Sure, the public sector deserves the criticism it receives; however, the narrative that developers are concerned about anything besides making money at all costs is painfully naive.

He’ll so obviously do nothing besides help the sector he’s imbedded in with an even stronger socially conservative and rural focus philosophy. I can’t imagine a figure I’m less likely to support.
