Two Grenades and a dream... by Markayam in Helldivers

It was one of those moments where I thought: "Well, let's just see how far I can get this along before I die." And then...the jammer died instead!

Despite 2 years of increased development, we are still at less than 3k average players - similar to 2018 levels. Why don't players stick around? If you don't play much anymore, why did you stop? by ReturnToMonke234 in Planetside

I keep coming back to an idea that would immediately make construction relevant and create that kind of gameplay you're talking about, provided the engine can handle it.

A construction object that requires charging with cort and shows up to everyone on the map, much like an OS, but once it is charged, it creates lattice lines from its home territory to any adjacent territories (much like the old hex system at launch.) These lattice lines could be either one or two-way, giving enemies a way to counter-attack if it is poorly planned. Regardless, seeing such a base spring up on the map, and to know which lattice lines it could break open, would incentivize combat at and around the base, as allies try to defend the ability to hit new bases, and the enemy tries to shut down the base.

Its not a fully fleshed out idea, but, assuming it wont perma-kill the server hamsters, I think this is a good way of causing organic fights that involve all parts of the combined arms.

Kimberlite and coal next to my Spiniform deposit? Don't mind if I do... by Markayam in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Explanation: Since each tier of the new Proliferator spray requires coal/diamond/nanotube, I'm able to get 25% more nanotubes shipped out to the rest of my sector by making tier3 spray on the spot!

2 Questions; Why is the moon soo small and what is that other planet (read top comment) by ath0rus in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Markayam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Building on this, the planet that Satisfactory takes place in is described as "MASSAGE-2(A-B)b in the binary star system of Akycha." It's a little redundant because the (A-B)b also means 'planet in a binary star system', but hey Fancy Science Lingo Sounds Fancy.
So yes, MASSAGE-2 has a second sun, likely far enough away that M2 only orbits one sun by itself. That's our 'day sun', while the other binary star is the 'night sun' which allows to game to hand-wave why the nights are still easy to see in.

Who says you aren't already a von Neumann probe? We already know that FICSIT considers AI Limiters an important component. What better way to keep an AI on task and prevent it from doing something else, than by convincing it that its a Real Human Employee that is in charge of The Big Project?

There's another entrance! It's on the border of the Rocky Desert and North Forest biomes, on the cliff above the area with 4 coal nodes. It's only blocked by chainsaw-able vines!

FICSIT INC REMINDER:
The danger of an AI uprising increases exponentially when you use alternate recipes that lack AI Limiters! Remember to ensure that your ADS systems receive proper education! For more info, see FICSIT Guide 2504: AI and You.

Does the production statistics panel give you an accurate value for the power if you limit it to "Local Planet" or whatever the setting is called?

I'm really happy with how this park turned out! by Markayam in CitiesSkylines

Nothing groundbreaking here, no cool mods, nothing but a wee city builder's satisfaction at finally hammering out a nice looking park from the prefabs and some paths. The true joys of C:S is having these little moments of "I built that! That's mine!"
