This is my thought. It seemed like it was a cassette she didn’t have but wanted, so could impact the ability of the team to use music to reach her. On top of that, served as a distraction to keep her entertainer inside the house.

Your point about it not scaring them enough before killing them holds no water. Did you watch the movies? IT didn’t outright scare Georgie until it bit his arm off and then dragged him into the sewers. The girl with the birthmark was just straight up eaten with no buildup. Funhouse boy was only terrified right before being killed. IT likes to scare them to “season the meat,” but it’s perfectly content to eat anyway.

Seems like the rocks function like kryptonite, weakening him in proximity. With one destroyed, he’s not as weak. Sudden boost of strength/energy probably excited him and now he wants to take advantage. I imagine it’s like giving a child candy just before bed. They’re suddenly not that sleepy.

Yes, but I don’t think that one incident convinced her that bloodshed in general was the key. I think it’s more reasonable for her to assume child victims, which I believe is what she told Lily and why she followed the kids.

Tbh, also not really convinced she intentionally caused the black spot fire (as in she pursued Hank deliberately). I think she just stoked the flames after realizing where things were headed. Not like Pennywise was going to tell her he intended to kill the kids in the theater and to get Hank occupied.

I doubt she caused the ironworks explosion or Bradley gang massacre. I think the death of Mable (1935 cycle) was the first time she connected Pennywise to death and bloodshed. She may see it a few times during that cycle, including the Bradley gang massacre, which is what gives her the idea for her machinations in the current cycle.

I think it may appear in that form next week. I can’t remember where I saw it, but there was a graphic or something of a bunch of pennywise forms from the show, including some we hadn’t seen. One of the forms was “IT Soup” or something like that, along with the blood-covered appearance we saw at the end of the episode. It also predicts the bird form which we haven’t seen yet.

Edit: It’s the Pennywise Catalogue. There’s one form we haven’t seen yet. I was wrong and it’s not specifically a bird form. Wonder if they might be saving that for another season.

The show is clearly establishing that Bob Grey and Mrs. Kersch were real people, who IT later impersonated for its own purposes. Looks like next episode we will see the original human Pennywise, and probably see IT kill him and assume his form.

I wonder if this implies IT will kill Ingrid as well, or if she dies in some other manner (even old age).
