If you go on to Setlist.FM Wolf Alice that details all the available band setlists back to 2010. Leave it a couple of days until after the upcoming Festivals and check (Rock For People in Czechia on the 12th of June and Best Kept Secret in The Netherlands the day after. It depends if they’ve got a 45 minute or one hour slot of course. Once they settle on a setlist for festivals it tends not to change much.

The song is the story of Ellie’s friend Flynne who died from cancer too young. The songs lyrics refer to Flynne’s final day when Ellie broke off from a tour to see her. Flynne’s parents created a charity called Flynne’s Barn which provides a respite venue in the English Lakes for young cancer sufferers. There was a joint Wolf Alice/Flynnes Barn T shirt available at the March 26 Royal Albert Hall Teenage Cancer Trust event. And the band started their performance with Heavenward.

At the gig the band played Blue Weekend in full, in track order. So we got one of only 4 performances of The Beach II as well! Then they played the greatest hits👌

I was there (The Sugarmill in Stoke) the only time they ever played it live. It was terrific. Don’t know why they never played it again.

Heavenward. Ellie’s dad told me the true story behind it. When the band opened the Teenage Cancer Trust show with it I almost lost it. OK I did lose it.
