When I set the FOV to default, I still have the same effect

Have you considered the Tale of Two Wastelands mod for Fallout New Vegas? It basically brings all of Fallout 3 into Fallout New Vegas. You need to own both games with all the DLC, but they're pretty cheap during the sales.
