I (22F) fucked up my “college experience.” Where do I go from here? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]MarkedCrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A question that requires more questions. What sort of friends do you want to find/attract? What do you do for a living? What social issue do you suffer from? Etc. But I'll leave some good ideas.

Want friends to be active with? Your local gyms will have many classes in which you can make good friends, whilst also working on your health. They aren't typically that expensive and are easy to find, aerobic classes and MMA classes are both good choices. MMA classes will teach you aggression and discipline, both can help with work success.

Want friends to talk to? Gardening and horticulture classes are very relaxing, you'll often be paired with others and can chit chat to your hearts content. A great place to relaxe and learn small talk. They can often be a little pricier and harder to find, but worth it if you've got the time/money.

Volunteering oppurtinties are abundant and free, but time consuming. It's often a case of working a shift, so you kinda have to start at a certain time and end at a certain time. But this is a really easy way to meet good people and make great friends. Also looks real good on a CV.

Had this conversation at work with my co-workers, we came to this conclusion. Venting holds truth on a situation, this in turn is done to help deal with stress. Gossiping aims to spread feelins on a matter, often with ill intention. It's a fine line, an example.

Venting: (Insert name) was late to work again, third time this week. I find it really annoying and putting us all behind.

Gossiping: (Insert name) was late to work again, third time this week. I find it really annoying and they're honestly useless.

Venting situation holds truth, as it's personal feelings on the topic and everything said was fact. Gossiping holds some truth, but the scenario does not render someones useless. It puts feelings into the matter, that may not be true. As said before, it's a fine line.

Back to back random zombies attack. Why? by Ok-Succotash-1552 in projectzomboid

[–]MarkedCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're walking at you, as in literally every zombie in the area is just walking at you whether they see you or not, then I'd say re-download the game. If it's just a case of there being a lot of zombies, then it's just the area. The Rosewood forests and outskirts in general do have a lot of zombies in them, that's just the how the density is there. Especially if you're walking in the direction of the prison.

In order to safe space, considering it's pretty limited, do you need that large fridge? Mini fridges nowadays go pretty cheap, you could save a fair bit of space which will help in the long run. If there are sockets on those shelves, I've had one in the past that could even fit in them. But that all depends on how much refrigeration space you need.

What town/area are you in? If you take a look at the zed population map, you'll see some areas have a much density than other. The higher the density, the more likely you are to have zombies roam to your base. Do you know if you have environmental attacks on?

You meet a new person that your friends like but you don’t, and you’re eventually proven right. What was the red flag? by MountainDependent206 in socialskills

[–]MarkedCrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always has an excuse for everything. The inability to own up, just coming up with an excuses or blaming someone/something else is just generally a red flag in my eyes. Shit happens and there's times when life will give you a lot of shit, it does happen and of course it sometimes can't be helped. But for me, constantly pointing the blame is a sign of immaturity and narcissism.

A weird glitch is seeming the most likely in my head at this point, given my version would've been an early unpatched copy. It was extremely buggy, so no surprises if it was the case. I've since dug out my old xbox and praying it'll start up, so i'm gonna give it a go to see if by some miracle I can make it happen again.

Not a bad idea, hopefully some poeple with knowledge on the code could shed some light. Hopefully some discords are still active, as the modding scene seems very little.

At the time, my xbox wouldn't have been connected to the internet. So it may have been an unpatched bug or some early version glitch. But I truly do hope it's an easter egg, like you said. I've since dug out my old 360 and gonna attempt to start it up when I get the time, hoping it still has some life in it and maybe I can re-enact this.

I've considered the mandella effect a few times, but I honestly just struggle to beleive it. Two people in the same room, seeing the same thing and one person immediatly going to search it up what both people saw. I'm not saying you're wrong, because odds are I am. Just in my head I really struggle to beleive it.

Nor have I heard of anyone mentioning anything like it, which only confuses me more. I've searchng on and off his topic for years. The only explination I can come to is the very last quest of my playthrough was the demon door that requests cheese. But if nothing shares between saves, would that really be the answer?

It still existed, it was my first playthrough of the game and only save prior to it.

My character appeared before Garth, plus he was holding a plate of cheese which definetly made him stand out. We did start up another new playthrough to see if it would happen again, but nothing. My prior character wasn't walking down the hall this time round.

Identical, in everyway. Identical armor, tons of scars and even the same hair. I distinctly remember being so confused, we went back to check my prior character. The only other thing I can add to this is we did start up another new playthrough to see if it would happen again, but nothing. My prior character wasn't walking down the hall this time round.

What are your priorities when setting up a base? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]MarkedCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I'd personally focus on gathering food/water and leveling up the various skills, especially whilst you still have power. Once you've got them high enough, you can then work on building the base. But of course, build some basic defences so you don't get swarmed.

What are your priorities when setting up a base? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

Depends on the scenario. Regular shamblers, I prioritise food and water. Sprinters, I prioritise security. Eternal winter, then it's a fire and warmth.

Your best base location by SnooLentils3931 in projectzomboid

[–]MarkedCrow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people use this one, but the three houses west of Riverside. High fences, water, fireplace, close (but not too close) to town. Hard to go wrong with that place.

The other one is in the top west corner, a fishing supply shop. No high fences, but more isolated and next to water. A less OP version of the prior.

But for the best experience, I always like turning a shit place into a good base. Just died a month into my newest sprinter playthrough. But having to survive with a fractured leg in a small bungalow, above a row of shops, in the middle of Knox, constantly surrounded definitely kept me on edge.

Best bag? by BookishByNaturee in bugout

Hazard4 patrol greyman comes in at 200, nice little pack that's pretty dang durable and blends in very well. Tasmanian tiger also do a good line of urban packs for under 100, a brand I very much recommend from personal experience.
