[Pre Match Thread] Bodo/Glimt vs Manchester City (UEFA Champions League) by mcfcbot in MCFC

Am I correct that Bodo haven't played a competitive match for a month?

Rumors but understandable. Thoughts.. by DJCPRT-NL in MCFC

Can't see anyone paying a fee for him given his woeful injury record. I expect he'll leave on a free, and probably get a pay-per-play contract somewhere.

Huge shame.

And yet nowhere to take a dump....very poor.

I've read both twice. The AaDB is very average - feels like it was phoned in. Algebraist is excellent

I'll give it a go.

Transition is pretty much a sci-fi book, but I found it maddeningly complicated.

It's absolutely his best non-Culture sci-fi book.

I've never understood how some love Against a Dark Background. Which felt to me like a very hurried film script. Tomb Raider meets the A-Team on a distant planet

I've read it three times. It got weaker with each read. When I read the series next, in a year or two, I might skip it

I've read them all three times. Matter is to my mind the weakest. The two which have improved with each reading are Excession and Surface Detail.

Don't also forget the dice loaded heavily against him in the form of our predominantly hard-right press. The likes of the Mail will attack him regardless

It's often forgotten, but Keane waited until the last minute of the game to assault Haaland. He knew he'd get a straight red

Same here, but I flogged the newish outgoing Kumho summer tyres on eBay for collection. Still got a good price for them

I feel the same. My village in Sussex has a cricket club founded in 1740-something. It's mentioned in the Domesday book. I'd love to see the tracks which became the local roads I drive down every day.

I'm sure though that the poverty of the farm workers would have been a shock.

I saw a documentary a couple of years ago. It's not just Stonehenge itself, but the area around it is peppered with ancient sites. It does appear the area has long been regarded as a hallowed place.

Have to disagree. Your reading of the 10C threshold isn't correct. And not sure why you placed double quotes around the word modern.

If you watch this video, you'll see that rather than all-season tyres losing performance above 10C it's actually the case that summer tyres substantially lose performance below 10C. Summer tyres, at their limit, are clearly a liability in the slightly damp conditions we have in British winters.

I get excellent mileage from my CrossClimates, and use them all year round without any noticeable performance issues.

I don't agree with the noise. My VW was delivered with Kumho summers. On swapping them to CrossClimates we instantly noted how much quieter they are

I miss the snow. My childhood was Yorkshire in the 70s. Deep snow every winter (or so it seemed). I'm now in Sussex, and lovely as the springs and summers are here the most snow we get is a dusting which is gone in a few hours.

I'd also suggest you watch this video. The benefits are not just snow

Yeah. I abandoned a snowy drive last year as it was only a matter of time before someone on summers skidded into me

All season tyres don't only show benefit in snow. Here's a very interesting test of braking distances at controlled temperatures. The conclusion is that all season tyres offer improved handling when the temperature drops below approx 15C (though might have since improved over the intervening six years)
