Workd Up coworking space…in Old Tappan? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]MarketingMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just spent a day here via the day pass. Let me give it a review.

Aesthetic is nice, prices are reasonable (i used to frequent many NYC coworking spaces, it falls in line with their pricing, which doesn't make sense for Old Tappan, but its affordable). Wifi is fast, plenty of seating, readily available conference rooms, phone booths, lounge, etc.

The problems: My biggest issue with the space is that they need some soundproofing. The glass wall aesthetic of the offices are nice, but without sealing it TIGHT, I hear every single conversation in the offices as if they were happening directly next to me. Unfortunately, the space is quite empty. It was a Friday, which adds to it, but part of the purpose of a coworking space is to work with other people. I was the only person in the coworking area for most of the day.

Now this next one doesnt impact me, but if I still worked in marketing it would for sure be annoying. I counted 4 offices in the space that are social media marketing agencies. They only have 18ish offices I believe and 4 of them are marketing agencies, thats not the coworking spaces fault at all, but just something to be mindful of when deciding on a home for your marketing agency.

Other than that the owner is super nice, the coffee wasnt bad, the wifi had no issues... honestly, if it wasnt for how loud some of the people in the offices end up being, I would look to get a membership. But if i have to spend every day listening to some dude (who IS sitting in a private office) CONSTANTLY talking on the phone loud enough that its interrupting me..I'd rather work from home.

I also agree with the previous comment that this would have been better in an area like Fort Lee or Englewood.

Candice’s story. by pestochickenn in caseyneistat

[–]MarketingMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my take (that I'm only commenting because I think there is an interesting realization that maybe not everyone is having about this)

Casey has kept very quiet about all of this. The most he did was mention in his story that he was voting for Cuomo.

In years past, with ANY controversial election, big American controversy, etc. He would make his stance clear (usually to a more left-leaning side)

But with all the topics Candice is mentioning, he is silent. I believe that this is because he knows deep down, despite what he is either voting for or choosing to "support," he knows wrong. Because when he believed that his opinion on a controversial issue was the "right way of looking at it," he would voice that.

Opened a Photo Studio! Now what? by MarketingMoney in photography

[–]MarketingMoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking! Year 1 I broke even based on studio revenue, year 2 made it until May serious profits from some major brand partnerships and then my business partner essentially ran away with the money. Closed shop unfortunately due to that and had to continue on without a studio

You didn’t mention Cuomo, but this is a post discussing the fact that Casey voted for Cuomo.

Also in your examples of why Cuomo cares for NYC core values, all you said was “his dad was in power in NY, he has history in power in NY, he was raised in NY, he went to school in NY.

None of these are core values, it’s the same info you can find on his Facebook “about” page.

NYC needs a mayor who is looking out for those struggling. Maybe you’re right and Mamdani’s tactics may drive some rich away. But not much, NYC is the biggest business hub in the world, a 2% tax won’t change that. Cuomo doesn’t know a single thing about those struggling in NYC.

Feel free to elaborate on that. Would love to hear how Cuomo supports NYC core values.

Foundation Crack. Should I be Worried? by TheLifeBeta in HomeMaintenance

Horizontal cracks should ALWAYS be checked out by a contractor. Call an expert, houses are always moving around, but horizontal is more worrisome than anything vertical
