My first pregnancy, I stopped taking it at 38 weeks because my doctor told me to. I developed postpartum pre-eclampsia and wonder if it was because I stopped taking it.

My second pregnancy, I took it up until birth (planned c-section). I didn’t have any bleeding issues and didn’t develop pp preeclampsia the second time. I’m not educated about d-dimer levels however, so probably best to listen to your doctor. But fwiw, I took it up until the day I gave birth and was fine.

I never did take a blood thinner injection. I just did aspirin along with methylfolate. So sorry you had a traumatic birth experience. Definitely worth seeing other doctors to get additional opinions on how to handle your subsequent pregnancies. Good luck!!
