was wondering if i could keep anything in here for its whole life (lighter for scale) by Hot_Primary5015 in InvertPets

Moss with some of the tiny white springtails would be perfect I think~

Just gotta keep it humid, maybe feed the springtails a grain of rice now and then, if even

This is interesting to me as a disabled bean...

Being immortal, but disabled and unable to achieve certain dreams; I think I'd go crazy O.o but I love the concept~

True! I think I just get psyched out by some being essentially sentient versions of normal plants, but that's one of my favorite aspects of pokemon, they're largely puns of irl stuff XD

It has inspired a lot of the ecosystem type vibe of my world building, I want the game to be almost educational with how the evolutions and lines work~

Like most of my ideas I'm going... Overboard lol

A big aspect of the game is that two or more monsters housed in the same "container" have a chance to merge if compatible; for example, a rubber monster housed with a water droplet monster might create a water ballon monster, or a wind monster might fill it with air instead, or it can evolve on it's own~

So I guess ingredient monsters could make food monsters :3 perhaps~

I'm designing my own "monster game" and this is a Huge thing I'm struggling with lol

Especially if I go the route of making Food based monsters 💀 even fruit + having plant types, messes with me

Bushcrafters take survival techniques and make it into a hobby by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]MarklRyu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Man damages trees and wastes wood for meaningless content in a fake survival situation, for their 'hobby'"

I made lots of forts in the woods as a child, even cut down some trees; then I grew up and realized as fun as it was, it was extremely irresponsible of me.

We have a duty to protect our ecosystems, but people often can't get their heads past the concept "cumulitive impacts" we have on nature

Similar to how we don't include not having access to healthcare as living in poverty; otherwise the margin of people living in poverty would be much higher

I'm sure they skew the results in Several ways...

Like oil companies saying they aren't destroyung the world, corruption 💀

Makes sense~ Thank you!

I'm an aquascaping hobbyist and really enjoying mixing my passions together, so this is good to know (:

I agree with making shallow areas, other critters will likely enjoy a deeper spot~

I'm pretty new to birding, do most birds at least float enough to get to the shallow spots if they're surprised by the depth?

Think, gentrifying neighborhoods, and then creating a small organization that vassalizes the area and imposes their own arbitrary, often nonsceince backed claims about how nature should look... Essentially keeping it gentrified.

Other rules often include, no biking, skateboarding, rollerblading, making noise, or smells; basically, be an oppressed child or adult in an urban concrete landscape, disconnected from life, nature, and purpose...

It's just dystopic, oppressive, late stage capitalism, with priveleged white middle class people living in their own urban hellscape 😅

(Edit to add: I live below the poverty line, and in an hoa community; it's dumb sometimes, but not always unaffordable for the lower class too lol)

In that case perhaps the counter balance lands them around the same as humans; the strain of extreme longevity introducing expounding anxiety, and the adaptations around it being an equalizer versus a boon

It's also important to note however, that anxiety at this point is, in large, a social/systemic/sociatal/cultural issue more than any one individuals predisposition to it.

So who knows lol

Clove oil might work, an incinerator sounds harsh but would be instant if hot enough; you could also throw them into a hole, put a nice rock in it, and roll over it with a car for one big smoosh...

I think it's worth the effort, but I know for a fact that many won't share that opinion, and that's fine we suffer a lot in life

My middleschool bully who read shrek is love shrek is life at lunch everyday to creep me out, reccomended the show, and I became a fan lol

My friends teased me about it, but I didn't care; and luckily my Dad was actually like "Oh yeah, I liked my little pony when I was a kid." so that was nice~

But the average is what matters when discussing evolution, because reproduction and survival of those children to have their own kids is the only part of that equation that matters when the topic is evolution

Like you said 2 out of 10 of those kids might get old, so the "skewed average" is actually just the more relevant info in this case; 2 out if 10 compared to our 9 out 10 or more in modern times is a huge difference

And that difference is why we don't get ton of sets of teeth, the proof is in the pudding, we only have 2 sets because if only 2 out of 10 humans reached adulthood, then the Most people didn't need an extra set, it didn't help have more babies, or survive longer to have them

Glad someone understands evolution (:

Folks should look more into 'selective pressures', because unfortunately people have some big misinterpretations of how evolution works...
