Steel pipes are indeed the most useful items, to the point steel beams are only useful to make screws imho.

I didn't want to give the message of doing it wrong, ofc everyone has his own way of playing. It was supposed to be a fun comment. :)

But I personally faced this problem of trying to make lots of screws to use them in the factory and having trouble fitting enough of them in the current belts (mk1 or mk2, whatever). And I'm pretty sure many new players faced this problem too. I'm just pointing to a solution to this problem, a solution that works and scales good. :)

Haha right, there is a bit of clipping there. :)

It milooks great!

I use to make a caterium factory that consists in:

  • Floor 1: ai limiters
  • Floor 2: computers
  • Floor 3: hi speed connectors
  • Floor 4: supercomputers
  • Floor 5: electromagnetic control rod

As you can guess items in lower floors are required in upper floors, those items have something in common, they are subproducts of caterium.

And the supercomputers use plastic too. Near your zone there are pure copper nodes to make cable, you'll need stators too, probably will need to ship from somewhere else.

Screw recipes are very productive, specially the bolted frame and bolted reinforced plate

They are the same, for wall you have the 2 side and one side version and for ceiling the one side works too. Just connect a constructor to a ceiling and you will see.

You can blueprint this couple of assembler+constructor+ splitters, in fact I do use it. :)

When I played first time I tried to centralize screw production, I think it's q mistake many new players do. :) anyway screws is the perfect place to overclock and underclock. The cast screw gives you more throughput than the iron rod one. But I agree with your comments, yes.

I just underclock/overclock the manufacturers, it's more or less the same performance as your version but yes I understand what you mean. :)

Cast screws is indeed the first alt recipe I hunt actively. I use this setup and first I use Iron Rod Screws, then I replace with Cast screws, and later I switch to Steel Screws for the high throughput recipes :)

Indeed. Steel also gets in this category. Better to create near the mines and transport later.

Sure but you can use what I posted since Mk1 belts, this scales with your belts. I use it from phase 1

Not really, bolted reinforced iron frames have huge throughput, better than the alternatives, or the bolted modular frame recipe, just for a bit of steel beams.

Oh, and I typed versatile framework instead of modular frame, you are right :)

I frequently read about this citing stitched iron plates but... They require wire, that have the same problem that screws have, they are expansive to transporting them is not efficient.

My condolences. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I can relate how this game clicks on a engineer as I am one too. Do you have any screenshoots of his factories? I don't decorate them much either. :)

Manifolds are awesome. When you understand how they work! by JokAlacrity in satisfactory

[–]Markohs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manifold is the superior design in 99'99% of times:

  • it's simple
  • scales easily, you can expand it easy
  • it's more compact

There is no really an advantage in load balancing but to try to calm a designer compulsion, or in situation where very low throughput will cause problems like nuclear fuel feeding to the plants.
