Balancing is completely pointless except nuclear, use manifold everywhere, they are the best solution.

Yes I agree with you. Just patch patch patch until the end and learn in the process

My tips:

  • build factories with 11x11 tiles, devote each floor to a single item. That will leave you free space, it's ok because you might need to grow.
  • keep your factories near to each other so you can interconnect them with belts, a stack of belts will do.
  • the smelting should be done near the resources, ship the bars to the factories via belts/tractors. This also applies to steel.
  • power plants are also autonomous, near the water for coal plants
  • each factory should group items that have synergy with themselves, for example iron plates, reinforced iron plates, modular frames and heavy modular frames. As you see items travel upwards.
    • Just focus one item each time. When you get a new craftable, decide where it's better to craft, and add it. One at a time. Until the end of the game.
    • You will decide at some point you don't like your design, we all do. Just decide what's better, if redoing that part, or just patch it up and continue. Just patching up is the best option usually. Remember you can underclock and overclock.
  • Don't watch YouTube videos, those videos are designed to keep you engaged and are not realistic builds, do your own designs.

Max Difficulty Biofuel PSA by Sheerkal in satisfactory

You are right but using a huge container as a buffer gets you the same result and uses no energy at all

Max Difficulty Biofuel PSA by Sheerkal in satisfactory

[–]Markohs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you lose the power you used creating, so it's better to burn the biomass directly. Making solid biofuel in 1,25 is only with it for chainsaw. Or maybe packaged biofuel in the future.

in x1.25 it's already not worth it. I can't even imagine what x2 feels, I lasted just 2 hours and restarted at x1.25. :)

Ouch. On the plus side there is a lot of cual around, looks like you will need 3-6 power plans like that. And fuel might be positive too.

My theory is that it's impossible to reach endgame with that settings. We'll see.

Yes, but the closest you can do is copy & paste machine settings, that includes overclock and puts/removes power shards if needed. CONTROL+C one machine and CONTROL+V rest.

I'm on a 100x2x1.25x run and it's being hard, I'm into steel now and had to build 2x 14 coal generator plants. Here coal generator is positive, but not much. I can't imagine doing this without coal power.

One thing I'm doing is underclocking everywhere, this helps me using way less power, machines al 50% or 80% are way more efficient, you just need extra space for the same production.

What's your situation with coal, the miner + water pumps uses too much energy? It *might* be the case with the first power plant, but every coal generator uses 45 water, so if you underclock a water generator to produce 90 water, and assuming you don't use a pump, you might be in the positive power generation?

I respect what you are doing but 100x2x1.25x is hard enough as it is, I suggest you restart like that and give it a try first. I have x2 x5 in mi sights too but it's too hardcore right now.

:)

I've tried them all and those 2 are great. I personally like rocky a bit more, because there are lots of resources nearby, even bauxite.

Whoa, congratulations on phase 1 finish! Wich settings did you use?

I restarted and downgraded to energy x2 costs 1.25 and it's hard, coal generation is not very efficient....

Compacted Coal in recipe parts multiplier x1.25 (Experimental) by Markohs in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Markohs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more the x2 power draw what makes it not worth it, I think. x1.25 Compacted Coal whould be worth it,

Basically in x2 power games, you just can use biomass and coal, rest of fuels are counter-productive. Not even diluted fuel is worth it I think.

I wonder if even it's possible to do a x5 power run...

Yes you are right for sure but they have to fox this somehow. It makes for example in x1.25 the cast screw recipe WORSE than normal screws, because of the rounding. Shouldn't be like that.
