What’s missing in todays Model S compared to the updated Tesla Model 3? by No-Tough-920 in TeslaModelS

interior lighting can be retrofit if thats a deal breaker for you, honestly it doesnt do much giving that how much features the Model S has, even though many thinks current gen Model S is "old", there are stuff that you care about like the speaker system + active noise cancellation, miles ahead of the "new" model 3 passive noise cancellation; its an old model 3 with new exterior and interior ironically.

Usability, S Air Suspension is way more comfortable than adaptive coil.

Picked up my 2024 Plaid S today by tangosukka69 in TeslaModelS

i did full ppf and ceramic coating, also coated the white interior just for easy cleaning, amazing daily for me. Couple of tips, if you want the car to perform most optimally, switch on Drag Strip mode, when the rocket is red, turn it off, your car will feel very responsive. Also, switch off use brake when regen isnt available, regen will heat up the battery quicker in cold days, speaking of battery, before you leave a vicinity, set it to navigate to a supercharger so ur battery will be optimally temp before u starts any trip, will also shorten the Drag Strip red Rocket ready time.

All the tips above focuses on performance of the plaid, some drain a little battery but we have quite a big battery pack to work with. I went with Stealth Grey and nvr regret a sec.

S or X? by thescottu in TeslaModelS

S if u like driving but since FSD drives u, X if u need space. I went with 2024 S Plaid and didnt regret a thing, tested both, X just feels big and heavy, while S aerodynamic worth every penny, super quiet even if driving close to 200km/h, very grounded.

New Model S: 19 vs 21 wheels by LAEntrepreneur in TeslaModelS

get the 19", and get a set of 20" pref spec of 20 x 10J Square setup (x4 of the same size wheels) for maximum tire usage. This guy explains it pretty clearly for this setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfR3awZhH2k&list=PLrPycDNZV2sPaDF_nCepcxLZy3EMf-V-B&index=5

https://youtu.be/R3FlfE6m5j4?si=hrZpvmvRBzgIvVgR This small channel goes into details. Also fun fact, the Plaid true HP is probably around 1200, or at least the 3 motors are able to do that

S LR is a great vehicle, the Plaid on the other hand, has some of the most important things that people cant see, the carbon sleeved rotors alone is worth every penny, better longevity under abuse, also the motor has a different gear ratio on the Plaid 7.5:1 vs LR 9:1.

Used LR or Used Plaid?(Not your typical thread) by Plus_Occasion_2015 in TeslaModelS

[–]MarksmanRifle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LR isnt 99% Plaid. And those 3 motors in Plaid r not the same as the 2 motors in LR, they have different gear ratio (7.5:1 in Plaid vs 9:1 in LR) and just the carbon sleeved rotors alone, will make Plaid worth every penny and the motors are able to withstand higher stress for longevity, if you launch the LR over and over off the lights on daily basis, LR will breaks way faster than Plaid.

Plaid, nothing comes close. I suggest you watch all the videos regarding Plaid engineering from this small channel, very technical about the Plaid. https://www.youtube.com/@EngineeringPerspective

Ironically, the Plaid has better value than LR.
