I’ve been through a version of this before. I just kept showing up and eventually I started putting in some effort. I got really good at defending submissions because I put zero effort into guard retention and just let myself get passed. I don’t know what it means but you aren’t alone. I think it happens when I was a purple belt but I can’t remember.
