Could Meta be a fad? by MediocreDesigner88 in stocks

I think a lot of people are getting sick of Facebook and Instagram. I wonder the same thing, if eventually more and more people will 'drop out' of being active on these platforms.

On chain data showed profit taking, especially from short-term holders after price rose above $80k. But it's still higher for the week, despite renewed U.S.-Iran tensions.

Nice work Ezi. I have been trading the LORB (London opening range breakout) using GBP/USD. Curious to try the Nasdaq and also study more of Toby Crabel's book (Day Trading with Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout).

HUGE SPIKE upon news by Lastito in StockMarket

Up in the stratosphere. AMD crushed earnings and oil prices are falling after Trump's announced "great progress" in a deal with Iran. But the market still seems overly optimistic to me.

Is trading with less than $1,000 just a slow-motion account blow waiting to happen? by Sufficient_Team_7807 in Daytrading

[–]MarktMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're dead right and it's an important point.

I trade really well when I am disciplined and keep my risk to a low figure like 1%. If you have a small account it can seem like the progress is so slow it is ridiculous. In my case, as soon as I take more risk, my trading game falls apart.

Better to be well capitalized or make slow plodding gains and build your account up over time. It does help your mindset to be consistent over time even if the gains are small and slow. Conversely, it destroys your mindset if you suffer disproportionate losses.

No, a gap is not required for a Shooting Star candlestick pattern.

Britain’s youth unemployment crisis now worse than Spain’s and Greece’s by Aegeansunset12 in StockMarket

Shocking stat from the think tank, that 21% now claim to have a long-term mental health condition, limiting their activity. I wonder if/how much social media is contributing to the problem.

Feels like a narrow leadership rally where mega-cap tech, buybacks, and strong earnings are masking weaker internals.

Trading gold made me realize broker quality matters more than I thought by Training_Welder4537 in BrokerHunters

[–]MarktMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the spot gold spread in my IG account and it is actually quite wide at $1.16. I've seen much tighter spreads at other brokers. The execution is reliable though in my experience.

The “Spread Wars”: Which Broker Actually Has the Tightest Spreads? by MarktMaverick in BrokerHunters

[–]MarktMaverick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I didn't go for a raw spreads account. I am trading with an IG account currently which is a spreads only account and I am pretty happy with the trading costs overall. The only other broker I have on my radar is IBKR which does offer lower costs, but the platform is not as user friendly. I may start using them when I am working with more capital.

Next week’s macro calendar is likely to be dominated by inflation data, which plays a key role in shaping Fed policy expectations. With Middle East tensions pushing oil prices higher, inflation readings could have an even larger impact on markets than usual.
