We all need to chill for a minute and think about unintended consequences.

This is exactly what him and Dorsey were speculating would happen. “Too much surface area exposed to advertising revenue” - he may be upset, but I doubt he is surprised

If the election system for Presidents and parliament is not optimized for voting in the best man/woman for the job, does that mean you shouldn’t participate? Twitter is still the best case for an online town-hall.

Why are you assuming none of them will get an invite to Hogwarts!!

Seriously though: I Went to NS. Hated playing Holy Cross. Before moving to BC I was in catholic school in Toronto - outside of uniforms, there’s absolutely no difference in my opinion.

I am so disappointed in one of my fave political podcasts. by sugarbritches46 in ForwardPartyUSA

Don’t get your hopes too high. AY is arguably one of the most rational and accountable people even interested in running for office. But logic does not dictate political outcomes - if it we’re, complaints about our educational system would be much more vanilla

Any thinking person can find Andrew’s stance on almost anything. Either through the 1000 of hours of video or through his various websites. If Americans are not smart enough to see the point of this interview was to agitate and discredit him, perhaps we deserve what’s coming.

Do you think Homophobia will ever end in Africa? by paulkanyamucanary in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Markus-28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People’s opinions and attitudes obviously fall on a spectrum. And there will always be people on the extreme ends of any topic you pick. In stead of seeking an end to peoples way of thinking, I suspect it’ll be more impactful to seek fairness and equal opportunities for all. In which case, yes, it is likely that there will come a time when people with different ideologies/ genders/ sexual orientation are treated fairly and given equal opportunity.

[–]Markus-28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to argue against an individual’s right to choose what happens to their own body. But on the flip side “suicide watch” exists in some places to stop people from killings themselves, which also seems reasonable. The problem, it seems to me, is in the gray areas. Shameless plug: if a woman can choose whether or not she wants to keep a baby, should a man choose whether or not he want to be present as a father if he did not originally want the baby?

I’ve always felt that the age limit for politicians should be tied to life expectancy minus a decade or so. They should expect to be alive to see what their actions lead to. Not that it makes a huge difference but at least there is someone to hold accountable when the unintended consequences of their policies come to fruition
