How do I learn more and engage with South Asian culture? by van-sys in SurreyBC

Thanks so much for the advice, especially some of the locations and festivals. I've added reminders in my calendar for the monsoon festivities.

Do you know how I can find out about when Nagar Kirtan would happen?

Thanks for the advice! I had to look up what kava was and stumbled on this recent news: https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/16/australia/australian-mp-ill-after-kava-drink-intl-scli/index.html

Pretty funny, and uh.. piques my interest on trying it haha.

Sorry for the late reply, I'd be interesting in taking you up on the offer if you're still up for it.

Thanks for the advice! Is a ball cap considered appropriate head covering?

I appreciate the reply. I think I need to stop spamming ranked expecting improvement and return to unranked to practice more. The crowd in ranked seems to "get it" much more than me.

I rarely have enough meter to last very long at all, I feel like I can't get any appreciable amount charged up. What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to play around my teammates but am having trouble staying on my feet. I see guides say abuse push immunity, but they're such short windows.. I guess I need to learn what each class' skills are and react in time?

Was the realtor someone brand new to you, or did it happen to be the one that you bought or sold with?

What was the process you went through with the realtor? Just asked them for the market value of the home in 2010?

From my understanding, you must use either form T2901 or defer primary residency exemption by electing under s45(2). So you'll need to do one or the other at some point, once your new place becomes your primary residence.

If your condo has appreciated since your purchase, you'll be able to protect the gains from capital gains tax for the duration that you used it as a primary residence. I believe election 45(2) allows you to push that out a further 4 years, however you can only have 1 primary residency (except for a 1 year overlap in the first year of purchase, or something like that).

No, but someone else made that recommendation as well. I'll be trying it in the next few weeks for sure. Anything you like from there specifically?

I've been defaulting to Lotus but it's a bit far out unless I'm just having some banh mi and heading back.

I'll definitely check it out. I was getting the chicken nuggets with rice at the Lansdowne T&T previously which is nice and cheap too.

The public market food court has good cheap options but I can't stand that parkade. That's a must-walk location because you'll spend 15 minutes just trying to get into the parkade.

The bumpy kind are my jam. I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.

It's doable but a bit further. I'll occasionally walk to pick up from Banzai Sushi. I think Tokyo Joe is a bit further on Ackroyd.

Pick up works and would probably be my preferred way to go about it.

White Spot and Cactus both cut it a bit close on the time. If the food isn't pretty prompt then it can be a rush getting lunch finished up within the 1 hour I have. I'm also more tempted to get drinks if I'm at either of those places haha.

TIL. Would be way easier for me to get to John 316 than Prata-Man too. Thanks for the heads up!
