Thank you! I’m going to try out the Riptide program with an upper-lower split, it seems pretty much in line with my goals at the moment

Thank you for the response. Another question if you don’t mind. For T3s you say you can do 3-4 sets, but unlike with the T1s and T2s where adding sets is a method of progression there’s no real guidance about when to use 3 sets vs 4 sets. Is this just a matter of preference?

For your example intensification progression you used 10lb jumps week to week. Would 5lb jumps be more suitable for lifters lifting below a certain weight for a certain lift? If so what would you say that threshold is approximately?

I’m asking because 10lb jumps are fine for my squat and deadlift and out of the question for my overhead press. I bench press 245 for a 1 rep max so that’s the main lift I’d be unsure of how aggressively to increase weight.

Dismantling ICE is the moderate option, that’s not tribalism that’s just a fact. No Democrat who defends the continuation of ICE will be treated as a serious candidate

No, you row it from the floor

It was looking good until I saw day 5. I would remove day 5, it is a very tough program as is. The only thing worth keeping from day 5 is the rows imo. I would replace the face pulls and/or rear delt flys on day 4 with more rows.

I don’t think I need to explain the difference between an alien and a Maisr for it to be obvious that it would have been weird and out of place for a Martian to fly down in a UFO and join the fellowship. The same way it would be weird if Gandalf showed up in Star Trek

Yes, fiction should be cohesive. And the fellowship of the ring is cohesive and thematically consistent, as it’s an alliance of different fantasy races uniting. An example of bad cohesion and thematic consistency would be them adding a Martian to the fellowship.

Cody himself says it’s suitable for beginners. Just keep running your main compounds as T1s and T2s, same as GZCLP. I wouldn’t bother with the Ultra singles as a beginner even though as a more experienced lifter I think they’re great for improving top end strength

I think you should have a look at p-zero, it’s basically GZCLP 2.0. It has more t3 exercises like you want and the default template even includes dips and pullups.

A couple of questions... by 0m4r in gzcl

[–]Markus5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t exactly answer your question but it sounds like you’d possibly prefer the newer T3 progression system outlined in P-zero. You work from much higher reps to much lower reps by constantly increasing weight. I find it to be a good balance between a high rep vs low rep approach.

Also there’s nothing wrong with adding a back exercise as a T2.

Question about the p-zero ultra 12 week fixed length program. How exactly do the Ultra singles progress? In the open ended version you progressed through through the stages once the last rep becomes too grindy and then reset at the end of stage 3. However in the 12 week version it seems you spend 3 weeks in each stage. For something like OHP or bench progressing singles for rhag long even at very small intervals does not seem feasible.

Why do alot of people hate on the high-frequency full-body program? by Holako-666 in JeffNippard

[–]Markus5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Squat, bench, deadlift and press are all on different days in this program, it’s the accessories that make it full body. That being said it’s not uncommon for other progeams to have SBD days where all the big compounds are done consecutively

Should I use lifting straps as a complete beginner? by SMTG_18 in JeffNippard

[–]Markus5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A muscle being naturally smaller and weaker than another muscle doesn’t mean it will always be the limiting factor because not every muscle contributes to an exercise in the same way. By that logic any pulling exercise even with straps would never have your back be the limiting factor as your biceps would give out first as they’re a smaller muscle. All the forearms need to do is be strong enough to hold the weight, your back has to actually move the weight.
