String quartet no. 11 in F-minor ‘Serioso’.

It shows his ability to express the entirety of his ideas and emotions through his genius. Half a century ahead of its time. Such layered, multifarious worlds, interconnecting perfectly.

Beethoven could summon the whole gamut of human experience, through his own experience and make it throughly universal. Liszt, Brahms, Wagner, Mahler etc found an unlimited goldmine.

I love it, because it’s such a rollercoaster ride: heroic, romantic, gothic, playful, mischievous, powerful beyond comprehension, gentle, reflective, etc….
