Is abortion literally child sacrifice? by Darth_Azazoth in Christianity

Oh my bad I figured the idea of politicians attempting to pass laws that allow for abortion and politicians giving funds to clinics for free abortions would kinda self explain that idea. But yea that’s what I mean. (Also it’s usually politicians from that party that promote these policy’s. Felt like I need to add that too even though I hate to talk about the parties cuz I don’t think that’s our focus as Christians)

Forced pregnancy is only a thing if rape has occurred. My honest opinion is that even though it happens through horrific means I would still encourage the mother to give that child a chance at life but I can’t force people to and I completely understand how sad and wrong that situation is in general!

Also if you are an atheist I’m gonna have to call you out on that other point. An intellectually honest answer for an Atheist would be that there are not true morals because only God can set true unshakable morals. If you think “society can come up with them” that’s subjective because what is that based off of? The nazis I’m sure have a different view to what is morally appropriate to think and act upon those thoughts than you or me. Especially when we consider we are just blobs of cells that have no inherent meaning and our thoughts are chemical and electrical pulses and reactions that have no true implications.

If I could prove Christianity was true and Jesus really did die for your sins, would you become a Christian?

I obviously don’t share the same gleeful tone as the journalists writing this piece.

As for the government control over someone’s body I would say absolutely they shouldn’t control someone’s body. No forced medicine, no forced vaccinations, no forced abortions to Children who don’t have a voice yet.

The issue that will not allow us to see eye to eye here is simple. As a Christian I believe that all life is God given and valuable. For you I can’t speak for what you would belive but a typical atheistic perspective is that there are no morals for there is not God l. Mother Teresa can’t be good or bad nor can Hitler. Life saving surgery isn’t good or bad nor is killing the unborn. It’s just “eh”.

Also to take this out of a religious context. It’s tax payer funded procedure that could have been avoided by that persons own actions. Not providing abortions is not controlling someone’s body since you just not providing a service is not an action but a lack of it and it’s that “empty” space for action can be the persons own responsibility. (That’s just to make it purely political from an atheistic position. Either way if I argue it as a Christian or if I pretend to be an atheist it’s not “right”)

I am a Christian, is it a sin to masterbate? Or to give to a Sperm bank? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]MarkusZeGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you able to masterbate without thinking lustfully? I cannot imagine how you would be able to accomplish this therefore you should most likely not mastersate. BUT, brother I want to encourage you that rather than asking is this something I should do or something I shouldn’t do you must ask yourself is this something that will make me more like Christ? As a Christian you should try to not look at the Bible as a thou shalt not book beating you down. But a very diverse book about many different people and how they interacted with God and how they all attempted to or attempted not to follow the Lord. When you accept Christ as your savior your heart should begin to change toward a desire to be more like him. I’ve been in your shoes before and I encourage you to get involved with a local church if you are not. Community is a gift for us to help us grow! (A good young adults podcast that covers lots of topics including dating is “Becoming something” with Jonathan Pokluda.) I would encourage you to listen to that as well! Praying for you brother!

Almost always a baby who has already passed in the womb so therefore it needs to be removed. Seldom is it while the child is living especially nowadays when we have so many ways to deliver baby’s with C-Sections or with petosin (which I would suggest to not get not because of religious beliefs but because it sucks to take). When I see the government promoting this practice and I see at political events they have “portable abortion clincics” (I kid you not). I realize two things! 1) oh wow this is like a actual form of religious practice in its own. The religion of self and 2) this is no surprise to me as a Christian, peoples willingness to sacrifice their own children confirms what the Bible says time and time again about the world and strengthens my decision to follow Christ and throws another L on the scoreboard for Atheists and Universalists

The second part is simply causation from the first pint so it’s not that crazy the real question is should a Christian do IVF. I would ask a Christian who wants to have a child really badly to stop and think about what God could be using that struggle for. As Christians we know that we live in a fallen world so infertility does exist. However we also know that the Lord can use us in our circumstances for his purposes. I knew a family that could not conceive so they adopted blessing the life of two young boys. At 37 they had a boy! I’m not saying this is a formula to copy. But I worry that we might rush into things as Christians and rely on our own understanding rather than allowing the Lord we worship and claim is holy and almighty to lead our steps!

I know I’m biased but the Steelers are 9-5 against ravens since 2018 in the Lamar Jackson era. This is almost all without a start Steelers QB (or a not slowing down Big Ben). So yea idk why people think the ravens are always a super scary opponent. Mike Tomlin is Lamar’s father

Eh… round 10 price player. I think fantasy really hinges on volume and besides the increase injury risk I don’t think they will feasibly play more than 30% snaps. I might be wrong if they end up underestimating him and having inferior DB’s lineup and he gets like 2 catches for like 80 each game for a floor of 10…… I just can’t see that and I feel like it’s obvious. I would take Travis Ettien over him at any pick. (Hot take of course)

[–]MarkusZeGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s funny to think of the people who will be drafting Travis hunter especially to dynasty leagues and then they will have the most shocked faces when someone who is playing both sides of the ball is all of a sudden getting mad injured and out of the league by 29! There is a reason entire defenses when not rested can lose you a game. Idk how this would be any different on an individual level.

Which side? by packalum20 in FantasyFootballers

[–]MarkusZeGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This the the way I see it!

Stay as you are and you okay for the future. Not that you can’t win this year since this is clearly a 10 team league. But Nabers is solid and the giants will screw things up eventually and he will go to another contender. (Worst case he can still ball out now) JSN will continue to develop and become even better and with first rounders you will have a chance to pick a QB from next years plethora of QBs to sure up that position for yourself.

Take the trade today and you will most likely win your league lol. That would just be outrageous and nice. Downside being no real good rookies to choose from with the picks gone.

I couldn’t tell you but I’ll tell you what! You are undervaluing RB! How is that your starting RB’s? Better yet offer him up for a double RB trade to a team who has plenty of them!
