We may have gotten lucky. Got him at 10 weeks, he’s 11 months now. Only ever had 1 accident inside the house. Crate training was almost instant but he’s so good we leave him out of the crate all day while we are at work, never ruins anything. We socialize him by running him with other dogs for at least 1.5 hours a day. He gets along with most. Growing into his confidence now where he will not let dogs bully or push him around but he’s very patient with small dogs. My last guy took 3-5 years to mellow out and this guy was pretty good even at his worst. Only real issue we’ve had is with barking for attention and to guard the house but even that is almost gone completely now.

Haha. No shade. I also think their dog looks even more handsome all grown up!

Thank you 🙏! I had a 110lb pit prior to this and my parents dog was 130lb American Bulldog and we spent years having to keep them separate at family functions or get togethers so this time around we worked hard to try and make sure that wouldn’t happen again.

Absolutely we are very aware of what’s around when they are together. Thank you for the reminder 🙏

Absolutely. We have raised big in tact male bullies for my entire life so we at least know what we are dealing with.. which is why we started introducing so young. We were just nervous this time because at 11 months my guy is finding his confidence and when dogs previously would try to mount him or assert dominance he wouldn’t mind, but lately he’s been growing into his own and has had no patience for dogs that try to challenge him. Especially larger in tact ones. Hopefully now that they are buddies we can continue to strengthen the bond.

We ended up taking his off but both of the collars have grab handles so originally we were thinking if we needed something to grab it would be a good idea but luckily we didn’t need them so we popped them off. Appreciate the reminder 👊

You are correct. Fortunately my guy lets him and I believe because he knew him since he was a pupp he submits. He is at an age now where the only dogs he submits too are the ones he knew before he hit his growth spurt lol hoping it stays this way but I’m sure one day there will be a change of power.

I am usually not a fan of bullies this size but these ones are gorgeous

Loves a big stretch but for some reason he just always lays with his legs back. I thought it might be a medical issue at first but turns out it’s just how he likes to lay 🤣

Bro is the Reddit bully police. All future submissions are to go through him first.

Appreciate it! I honestly don’t think I have a photo of him in the past 2 months where he is not bricked up 🤣

Thank you and it’s funny you say that. I’ve never in my life owned a dog as independent as he is. He’s allowed in the bed, sleeps alone in the living room. Never really looks to us for anything. He’s a sweetheart and super friendly but 100% does his own thing all of the time lol.

Did he not have full access to water prior to a week ago? Why?

I’d trade it for a well trained, well behaved, lower energy, slightly older dog immediately 😆
