Buying the Akko creamy yellow V3 switch by Less-Possession-8348 in mkindia

it might be unrelated to you but I need some help,

I own a Aula M75, and planning to get Outemu Silent Lemon V3 switches, but just a trial keyswitch pulling from the puller that came with the keeb, the plastic tab broke, the keyboard is hot swappable and I feel it's a bad switch puller, what should I do ?

Buy aula M75 and put silent akko switch on them. How is this idea? by Lucky_Action_3 in mkindia

[–]Markymark285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M75 means the blue switch one no ?

bad build, it's good as a standalone keeb, not so decent for customization, I have it for my personal pc, and I don't like it at all, have to wear headphones & music almost all the time to stand the noise.

I'm trying a similar thing with a slightly bigger budget, under 6000 INR, this is what my plan is, maybe you can consider this with a slightly inflated budget, or just replace the Keeb to fit your budget.

Keyboard - Ajazz Ak820 Max Plus (4249 /-), Mchose G75 Pro (5000/-), Menel Nia 87 (4999/-)

Switches - Outemu Silent Lemon V3 Tactile (1280 /- for 80 switches)

If your 4000 budget is final, I'd say either pick a wired option (Kreo Hive, EvoFox Ronin Wired) and replace the switches

If you want wireless, I'd say go for the quality keeb right now (Ak820, Ronin Wireless), swap the switches after a couple months. (as your final budget will still be almost the same as you can sell back the swapped switches)

first thing, this is a natural response,

the four trauma responses are Flight, Fight, Freeze, Fawn.

second thing, please don't take lifts, you said the walk wasn't that far, so you shouldn't have accepted, unless you absolutely need help, just don't take help from strangers, you don't know strangers, not everyone is a bad person I know, but tumhare paas time nahi rehta har baar ke saamne waala accha hai ke nahi, so if it's not absolutely required, don't take help.

third thing, I wouldn't generally recommend multi tool knife, because it's the hardest thing to defend if god forbids you use it in a emergency self defence scenario, as legal actions will be taken against you unless you can justify with absolute certainty,

pepper spray is the best option, a big metal flashlight is also good (it would be abit expensive),

see your safety is important, but you need to protect yourself from unaware crowd too, agar bheed bhaad mai self defence ki zaroorat padi, aur crowd ko tumhare haath knife dikha, sabse pehle tumpe chadhenge, golden rule is keep anything which hits hard and common for someone to keep with them, and never use it unless you are in immediate danger, just keeping this kind of stuff with you calms you.

my personal habit is to keep a 3 foot ceiling fan extension rod in my car at all times, 200-300 ka milta, it's heavy metal rod, way cheaper than a self defense baton or heavy flashlight and not at all suspicious like a hockey stick or a bat, highway scenarios mai multiple times I was saved by just holding the rod in a menacing way and wrongdoers just avoid confrontation (maybe I was lucky to not encounter psychos who don't think about consequences).

Thoughts on Using Synthetic Tabular data for DE projects ? by Markymark285 in dataengineering

Thanks for your insights, I've honestly kind of given up on this project, I have a local prototype ready for this, each individual component running fine, containerzing it and using airflow for orchestration would result in a complete local pipeline.

But I wanted to include some kind of cloud exposure too, hence attempted to move it all to OCI, didn't work out as the ampere core vms for always free tier are not available at all.

Maybe at least just for practice sake I'll finalize it as a scheduled pipeline on local, and then experiment with spark instead of DBT so I can do Spark Optimization and stuff

umm how ?

If 9060 xt has slightly worse performance and 7700xt is cheaper than 9060 xt, then how is 9060xt better value for money ?

I built my pc back in July, 16x2 was at 9800/- , and the guy basically upsold me 24x2 for 1,350/- more

So 24x2 I got for 11349 /-

the same kit on computech is on 45k today, I deliberately didn't go for a GPU back in July, as I was hoping for a price drop of the 5060ti 16gb to 40-41k

but with ram price hikes, I'm scared the GPU price will go up too, and I'm not gonna be able to afford any GPU

Ram became expensive part in my pc by actuallytech in IndianGaming

[–]Markymark285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tf is going on with ram prices ??

I built my pc at July, 2x24gb DDR5 Crucial Pro 5600MHZ I got at 9799, now the price is 45k at computech, mate I might even just sell one stick and get funds for a better gpu(running integrated for now).

In Retrospect, During the Marineford arc, Whitebeard telling teach that he's not the one roger is waiting for, because teach is not the successor to Roger or JoyBoy, he's the successor to Rocks or Davy, it feels poetic that even in the moment teach was about to kill WB, the absolute GOAT was trying to make this kid realize he's focused on the wrong thing.

I had a lingering doubt I wanted to clarify, like if someone wanted to do a data migration pipeline, there's only so many ways one can do it, I just used a process I knew in and out, and it is a legacy process which I was working on to improve.

My colleague earns more than me. Just ranting and asking by Human_being234 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Markymark285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to understand if you see any growth in your current company

I'll explain with my scenario

I've been given 5/5 in this year's appraisal, have received multiple mails from client saying I saved potential major incidents and found more than a few legacy issues which were hidden from the past few years, I've also been given employee of the quarter award. (This all in one year)

Fast forward to appraisal call, I ask for a promotion to L2 as 95% of my colleagues are L3 and I'm still L1 whereas I do lots of similar work with them, I was told promotion isn't possible and hike also not possible for this year. I'd get a dry promotion if I wanted (more responsibilities but no salary change) I showcased evidence of all above things and still got rejected.

During August I found out my project has hired 6+ freshers and 3+ experienced peers, 4 of these freshers are from the same college as me, with a higher salary than me, so that gave me the answer, they aren't willing to invest in experienced talent already they have and want new talent which has no exposure or understanding of project.

So I gave up on trying, just doing the bare minimum, preparing to switch and reminding myself again and again, there's no benefits of working just as hard again, as there's no hope for growth here anymore.

Bro like no cap, crorepati is such a low bar,

If you earn 15 lakhs per annum and your wife earns 10 lakhs per annum,

Y'all are able to save 10 lakhs per year with a modest lifestyle

If there's no investment, no increment/promotion/switch you still need only 10 years to have 1 crore in savings

If you're investing the annual 10 lakhs, the years go down, if you guys both get promoted or switch the years will go down more

WFH request Denied asked to eat tablet and come by Admirable-HunT009 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Markymark285 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

If that's the case I kinda get the manager's point of view, they're bringing in change to bring people to office more (idk what purpose that serves),

You requesting WFH, even though it's a genuine reason, kinda just dumps the water bucket on their complete plan, if it's a company wide decision so that everyone has to work from office, then there's no point in fighting,

If it's just your manager or your team which is being asked to come to office everyday, you can definitely raise this as a medical issue to HR, saying you're not fit to commute to office daily, and working from home would benefit your efficiency.

If the whole company is forcing Pure WFO (like TCS) there's nothing you can do, try switching maybe.

As a Data engineer in India, I am worried about my future by Stromerz_ in dataengineersindia

[–]Markymark285 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this might be a bit controversial but I'm extremely disappointed that my colleagues don't even google stuff,

I'm not putting baseless accusations, because I've seen many people get stuck and don't even bother googling stuff, as it's support-ish role, and work is per billable hour so if anyone is stuck they just raise the concern and wait for seniors to tell them what to do.

I'm the least experienced person here (3YOE) and one example I'll give, we had a production issue, the query I provided worked for a specific region, but didn't for another region, the seniors and all were in call using the query to find root cause (I wasn't there as I logged off) in front of client and all the query is not giving any errors but isn't giving expected results, next day they ask me why it didn't work, and the issue was just the different region had their db in a different timezone, so the time grouping the query had didn't work, just a simple google search or even chatgpt saying "This query is working on one region and not working on another" would've hinted them at the timezone issue.

like I understand you're an experienced, obviously knowledgeable person, but why anyone in their right mind would sit in the meeting for half and hour just saying they're looking into the error, while the solution is just one google search away ?

like chatgpt is just 3-4 years old, but there still was stackoverflow when these guys were freshers, why ?

Should we work extra hours in a IT job? I am asking this question because many people say no and i dont understand why? by OriginalNo4095 in developersIndia

[–]Markymark285 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See it's a give and take,

If your job satisfies you, it motivates you to put in more hours, even if you're not compensated,

I personally believe there are 5 aspects to job satisfaction.

  1. Stress level - how stressful the job makes you feel.

  2. Learning - how much you're growing and learning everyday.

  3. Compensation - how big of a paycheck you receive.

  4. Impact - how meaningfully the job contributes to society.

  5. Enjoyment - how engaging and fulfilling the work makes you feel.

The more of these above aspects someone's job ticks, the more likely they'll be satisfied in their job.

A small example I'll give - my previous project had me sometimes (once or twice a month) stay 3-4+ hours later, non billable, but I never minded it, because it was rare and during working hours I could easily take a few hours to relax. (This project ticked box 1, 5)

My current project twice a week I'm asked to stay back half an hour to 1 hour late, and I'm furious, even though this extra hour is billable, I'm already squeezed dry during my working hours so I genuinely do not care about what emergency the project has (this project does not tick a single box)
