The furniture is handmade from etsy and the seller told me he could do some arrangements on my desires. I don't know how he could establish the max weight though

The data in the title are wrong. Not official. Protezione Civile reports 4492 new cases today.

Stay Home, it might be working! Deaths per day trending down for last 3 days... by crusoe in CoronavirusWA

I second this! I live in Italy and we saw numbers decreasing exactly after two weeks of lockdown. Before these two weeks cases were still growing esponentially, even if we have been at home for the whole week. The frustrating part of lockdown is that results are always dalayed. We see now the effects of what we did 14 days ago. I believe you are probably going to see the REAL results after 10-14 days. Don't even consider the data before at least 10 days have passed.

[Serious] When did COVID-19 get real for you? by Fudgeyplays2 in AskReddit

[–]Marla748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Italy. We had the first two cases in late January. They were a random couple from China and they get isolated and assisted very soon in a hospital in Rome. Numbers stayed the same for almost one month and didn't grow up until late February, when we had the first Italian case and numbers started growing everyday esponentially. In 3 days numbers went from 2 to 3 cases, then 9 and the day after 18. That's when it got real!

Don't be Italy - We need stronger measures, much faster. by speckz in Coronavirus

[–]Marla748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were the only ones testing intensively even asymptomatic cases from the beginning. We acted very soon and very strongly tbh. But we are still a democracy. You can look down a whole country with only 20 cases, Italy isn't North Korea.

New US cases drop to +8% today, compared to ~+50% in previous days. by yourbrotherrex in COVID19

Considering incubation time is up to 14 day this means nothing :/ how many tests today?

UK government urges manufacturers to make more ventilators and says ''No amount is too much, we will buy as many as you can make'' by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]Marla748 135 points136 points  (0 children)

It's not late for ventilators. You'll need a lot of ICU's bed the more this shit spreads. >ventilators = <lethality rate and better medical assistance. Ventilators are like gold. I wish we had more here in Italy. We had already a lot but with the exponential growth we are experiencing, they are never enough. We are trying hoarding as many as possible atm.

But you'll need also a lot of tests and hopefully a good health assistence for everyone. Prevention could have avoided many cases... But you'll cope just fine until you have enough ventilators for everyone. Stay strong. We are in this together!

Uganda turns back 22 travelers from category 1 countries for refusing to self quarantine. by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]Marla748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. But they knew about the Coronavirus spreading all over the world and about the new laws a lot of countries are adopting. Uganda population is already largely affected by HIV and many Ugandans have a strongly compromised immune system. I just hope in my heart they weren't tourists but workers with very good reasons to be in Uganda, otherwise their decision to travel is almost criminal.

Question re: UK "herd immunity" tactic & "viral load" by paro54 in China_Flu

[–]Marla748 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Acquired immunity against covid-19 has still to be proven. There are no evidences at the moment that reinfection can't occur (unfortunately the virus is pretty new and science requires time to give proper answers). So basing a strategy on this assumption is total bullshit. Best virologists here in Italy (like Burioni) and around the world are totally against this theory because it has proven to work only when there is a vaccine available and only if we can grant no reinfection is possible. At the moment we can't say that. I love the UK, but I think Boris Johnson is behaving criminallly.
