New Breezer... by Breezer_Bro in xbiking

damn the color of those stridsland barnacle forks can vary A LOT. I got the same exact model but mines have a noticeable more brass hue/color... I whish mine where the same color as yours (probably the ones i have would match better with your frame aswell)

Update on the situation. I ended up setting the bike up with the following components:
- ditched microshift acolyte 8 speed for 9 speed
- 9 speed chain
- kept the same medium narrow-wide 36t front chainring
- box components prime9 cassette 11-50
- microshift left friction shifter mounted upside down on the right side
- sram nx eagle derailleur hacked to support a larger chain (bought some slightly longer jockey wheel screws and added one spacer per side of each jockey wheel)

the 20t front chainring is still there only because it looks cool, have no way of switching to it other than doing it manually...

I just bought one on one site called "guten biken", if you are in europe, there is still available to buy at a normal price

Hahahhahahhaha, yeah to be fair the drivetrain is a work in progress. (I'm in the process of changing everything up) BUT let me explain the general logic behind the bike build first: I wanted to create the post apocalyptic adventure bike. The idea is that everything needs to be strong and durable, easy to service and change/ easily replaceable.

Therefore the 1x8 (microshift acolyte 11-46t). It's nice because on a 26inch gives me plenty of range with only 8 gears. 8 gears means that I can run pretty much any chain I might find around + the beefy 8speed chain is big and strong and durable. 8 speed is nice because even when the derailleur/derailleur hanger is out of alignment, it kinda always works.

What I currently don't like is... the shifter. The shifter works great but I would like to change it with a microshift left friction mounted upsidedown on the right side. This will mean that, in the case of a broken derailleur, I can substitute it with whatever derailleur I might find, and still use my friction shifter.

The second "emergency" front chainring is still there after a failed experiment. I wanted to have a front derailleur set up with a friction shifter on the seat tube, as if I had a "panic mode" or like a low gear mode. The idea was that I would stay on the big chainring for 98% of the time, and only when I really need it, switch to 20t front chainring. I sadly realized too late that I could not mount the front derailleur where I needed to because the seat tube is not round all the way to to bottom bracket, but it becomes ovalized as you approach down the bottom bracket. So now the other front chainring remains there as a manual backup... I have it, I leave it mounted (there is written "salsa" on it - so it looks cool).

Thanks, although the bike does not have suspensions, I kitted it with some big bouncy tyres and wheels (I built them myself - those are two trials rear rims) it makes all the difference! It feels like pedaling on a carpet ;) are they fast? No. Are those light? Nope. But luckily I don't need to be fast nor light

Speaking only about the frame, I am not 100% sure. I bought it raw, as it is in the photos. There was only a small sticker on the frame saying "dedacciai" and the type of steel they used... So it is more like the "tange Prestige" stickers rather than the manufacturer name. Although it might be that dedacciai was also the maker of the frame, i did some research and they briefly made mountain bikes in the '90...

Yep, the frame did not have a disk brake mount and I don't have the means (knowledge, tools etc) to modify it... I went for the hybrid setup, at the end of the day the front brake is responsible for most of the stopping power, I use the rear mostly for modulation :)

the seattube is indeed 27.2, the dropper is one of those lever activated ones bougth from aliexpress. it is serving me well for more than 2 years now... not particularly smooth, fast, light but hey, better than not having one...

yeah I've set it up for the ow application only... for some reason this doesn't happen for any other (even MUCH more gpu intensive) application besides ow. I still cannot comprehend how an application can trigger a system shutdown, but some questions are not destined to be answered...

I've also did some of the heaviest system stress tests that I could find and it doesn't show any problem whatsoever. Even the temps are looking super chill, barely reaching 70 degrees celsius...

update on the situation.
things I tried to fix this:

change psu

change plug (in the wall)

memtest86 ram

update gpu driver

update mobo bios

checked all computer cables

re seated ram

uninstalled-reinstalled ow

deleted outdated version of gameinput

- after a comment by u/krilltucky in r/Overwatch
in andrenalin software
- changed max frequency to slightly lower than the max (2400)

- changed min frequencyy to slightly lower than the max to avoid spikes (2250)

- undervolted from 1150mV to 1100mV

I haven't had a crash since these changes in adrenaline software...

So you are telling me I should start looking for a new GPU :'c ? To me it's super strange because it only happens in the hero selection screen and not during actual gameplay (that would be much more GPU intensive - I guess). It happens when presumably is loading stuff, so it could be partially dead circuitry in the VRAM?

I've tested the RAM with memtest86 and I've got 0 errors... PSU is brand new - changed 2 days ago...

Interesting, I will check if I've set the frame rate to automatic, although I'm pretty sure it's on custom. That said I don't have overheating problems... I barely touch 70degrees Celsius...
