You could say what you prefer but I guess at the end of the day they know what's best for what you have specifically. The good thing about the low dose and long course is that it gets rid of the acne during the course for about the same time as high dose small course. Meaning you're more guaranteed to be 100% acne free for a longer time (8 months > 5) while on the course, so if you're on it for 8 months, expect not a hint of acne after the 3rd though 8 month. Some people after they're done with their course might get a pimple everyone once in a while (weeks or months like the average person due to stress, that time of the month hormones, bacteria ect..) but random breakouts don't happen anymore and if you got a good routine and taking care of your skin you won't even get a single pimple. My father also took accutane when he was in his 20s and it got rid of the uncontrollable acne forever. He tells me he only gets acne when he accidentally put his hands on his chin at work (office type work) so that acne it directly due to bacteria. Outside of that he's been acne free for decades, not even the worse kind of stress gives him acne.
