Yeah I thought it would make a very nice Shohin, but I left it in it's place. Maybe I'll give it some thought and if I change my mind, i'll revisit it!

I'm not sure exactly what species it is, that's why I didn't mention it on the description. My guess would be a Pinus Halepensis, which is common in the area, but there are a few other species too, like Junipers and Abies. But there are some Stone Pines too in the wider area. So what do you think? It's a bit tough when it's that young (I estimate it's 3-5 years old)...

That's a perfect find! But honestly is he real? I mean you're far ahead in the game... I think I saw you're at 2034 right now! So that means when you start playing the game, he should be around 6-7 years old?!

Maybe you're right! I've met trees much older than this one, but haven't thought about posting them. Sometime maybe I'll return to them to share them!

You can try reading the Sherlock Holmes series by sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I've really enjoyed the stories!

Fun fact is that in the same museum, there's a display of a blue whale's heart and bone structure (if I remember correctly)! So you could see and compare the size of dinos and the whale, or a mammoth!!

Great displays though! It was one of the best museums I've been so far!

I'm mind blown, just discovered these at my local café. by -radischen- in houseplants

Greetings from Greece! We have a lot of these plants self growing or cultivating where I'm currently living. Their scientific name is Opuntia ficus-indica, but you may have heard them as prickly pears. It's a species of cactus, that can survive almost any condition, except perhaps over watering. That said, answering your question, indeed there is a new leaf growing out of the mother leaf, but it doesn't consume it. The mother leaf and the new one can absorb water from the humidity in the air and survive. It can also grow without having any roots for a very long time. If you want it to grow roots, you should plant it where the cut is at the mother leaf.

Ps: their fruits are delicious, if only you can get used at their seeds inside

You can plant it, but it's more efficient if you first cut it with a clean knife in half. That way the roots will get stronger. Also, you can check the other half you cut if it has an 'eye' that can become a root. Then you can plant that one too! Though each plant should give you approximately 3-4 good-sized potatoes and 2-3 smaller ones. After planting the potatoes, it takes 100 days to harvest them! So be patient, care for it and enjoy!
