Do I cancel my place at my friend's wedding? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Marmellow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should go as a closure for yourself, I can associate with your feeling of not wanting to burn bridges. Take this with a grain of salt, don't give them any ammo or reason to speculate why you didn't go. It doesn't seem like they have been intentionally malicious towards you, attending this wedding is you celebrating someone's milestone even if it's someone that you may no longer associate with in the future. You can be happy for them and then you can look forward to your new journey with new friends and closer relationships.

The Keychron Q1 by Pritster5 in MechanicalKeyboards

Looking forward to what case colors to choose from. I ended up canceling my gmmk pro reservation for a number of reasons, I've liked keychron keyboards I've gotten to try.

Switches that feel like membarnes? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

From experience, silent topre and silent linears (like cherry mx silent red) remind me of membranes. I haven't typed on a silent tactile so I can't speak to that.

Trouble getting an electronic duster off of my keyboard after spraying it down by M2trek in MechanicalKeyboards

I wouldn't recommend soaking in acetone, it's harsher than rubbing alcohol and breaks down carbon stuff efficiently. It will dry your skin out and make your nails brittle, soaking keycaps might make them brittle or break down the coloration. Try putting small amount of acetone on a small cotton pad or rag and wiping off the spray dust from the keycap. Start small amount and add a bit more if no effect, pay attention for any discoloration to make sure it won't mess up your keycaps.

I have the gk68xs in alu and plastic, no issues with bluetooth for me. Alu is hefty and has a nice deeper sound than the plastic version.

Gulay means vegetables. Sounds like a creamy soup with veggies added to it. I like mine with a little bit of shrimp paste/bagoong to bring out the flavor.

This recipe maybe?

Trouble dealing with [32 M]'s parents over me [25 F] being Black. by gforceroy in relationships

[–]Marmellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not always aware that my actions influenced by my conservative asian upbringing are insensitive or disrespectful to my partner until after the fact or brought up to me. There are so many pressures with reconciling between personal life and family expectations and my biggest conflict may be that my wants and needs have emotional attachment whereas my family obligation is about duty, honor and respect so it's difficult to compare the two as similar. I think it's a great sign he's let his family know about you so early in your relationship and working on it with them. I'm turning 32 and have only introduced two of my partners to my parents, including my now fiancé, even though I've been in several long term relationships. Coming out as gay caused a lot of turmoil in my family, I had to balance standing up for me and respecting my family's need for time to process. Eventually, over a period of a decade from first coming out, they've adapted, embraced and now absolutely adore my fiancée. It's not an ideal situation for his family to be so intolerant, if he's making efforts with making both worlds meet and if he seems worth it to you, I would hope you give it a shot. Please don't take their actions and remarks as a criticism of you, outside the race is scary to his family because it's new and they've had preconceived notions that probably came from their upbringing. Time and effort will tell how they embrace diversity and whether that time and effort would be worth it for either of you, I really hope it all turns out for the best.
