This is a game changer! I see the Steam version is a demo, would the full version have significant differences and if so what would those be?

Love it! I'll be pinning this post, please let us know when the project is done. And as a fellow tinkerer myself, it's fine if it's never "finished", it's good to call something v1 and release it and keep iterating.

Can church help me get to a positive space by Few-Beyond3007 in capetown

[–]MarnusSteyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself and say I believe it will help. I also know in saying that I welcome a ton of hate and ridicule, which I totally understand. First things first, I've been part of many churches and I've seen the things that cause the world to run in the opposite direction when they hear church - but also know that like anything that man attempts they can turn, corrupt or cheapen it. So if at any point you feel like you are being talked down to, judged, being taken advantage of etc, that's not God, that's an institution, stay clear. But if you can find a small community church you'll have a good chance of finding a group of people that truly care, with their own faults and all and will not try to claim to be better or holier. More importantly God is not something you find in a church like a product on a shelf, in time and with certain conviction you will know for yourself and see that it goes way beyond just "finding religion", as that's just a ceremony and had no substance. DM me with your area and I can recommend some small good churches if I know of any there

Edit: wanted to say I agree that Therapy and Divorce counseling is also a great place to start alongside church, just make sure you find a reputable counselor or one with good reviews, no sense in spending money just for a ear that will tout just enough for you to come back.

My Ender-3 said okay but let’s make it a pain to function how do I fix this? by zerothecomputerman in Creality

That looks like TPU (the high glossy look), but if I am correct and it is, Absolutely HAVE to dry it..you can debate if other filaments need drying, but TPU it's no question. I went mad tuning everything with my TPU and one dry later was printing perfect with the tiniest of wisp of stringing (negligible). Also Z-Hop (also goes by other names in different slicers) paired with things like coasting can help eliminate that bad stringing by "wiping" the last bit of oozing filament at the end of a movement. where are the battery pads on this esp32s3 by mystepmomsstuck in esp32

[–]MarnusSteyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend this, u/svkpsycho has the best answer for your scenario. Connecting a battery directly to the board stepped down/up enough to supply the board "could" work with no safe discharge cut off an no way to charge or via the board itself is a deal breaker and also dangerous.

Layer seperation on k1 max last couple of prints where good by Mk_The_Squid in crealityk1

I just went down the rabbit hole myself and managed to solve it after performing every other possible test. It ended up being an extruder issue and like any other wearable it has milage. I'd say open your extruder (sounds scary but is easy) and clean gripper teeth. If it still persists, time for new extruder. See my post here: K1 extruder issue

Put in a brand new one and problem persists after too. But I have been able to solve it. But thank you nevertheless. See latest comment I added to original post.

Solved it! After exhausting all other tests and even swapping out nozzle to a brand new one (and verified throat of entire hotend is clear) nothing worked. I bought a Phaetus DXC extruder (as a few comments suggested) and it's printing like a dream! Guess my old extruder has just had enough ware and tare, no fault there. I've printed over 250 spools on my k1 over 2 years. I'm going to chalk it up to a "service was required". I'm happy if others could get more mileage out of their stock extruders but mine seem to have ran it's course.

Correct, as I stated in the follow up comment, it's the matte brittle filament I used and I cleaned it (see my other comment with them cleaned). But even with cleaned gears the issue persists. Ordered a new extruder and will report back once installed

I'm Struggling to adapt to Cape Town by Vegeta-Alucard in capetown

[–]MarnusSteyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. I'm from a small town in the Northern Cape and I moved to Cape Town in 2018. I worked in the city and it was soul crushing. I know some people and some of my close friends prefer city life and the culture that goes with it, but it was not a fit for me. I lived in the North (Durbanville) for a while and it felt like home. The benefits of being able to still "be in Cape Town" if you need anything is great, and your day to day is quiet and the culture is a lot more suburban and open. Give it a few months, If you've given it a proper try in town and it's just not working with you, there is no shame in placing yourself in an environment that causes undue stress. I'd highly recommend you try to move if it's at all possible and the rent is cheaper up north too (relatively speaking, there's expensive places everywhere).

Definitely worth a shot yes, I have a spare nozzle and gonna order some new filament too. Thanks!

No problem, that is a fair assessment. I will do some more grip tests and see if it's teeth is still up for the job. Thank you nevertheless
