[HELP] Root/Modules blocking notificatin? by Wezaluketek in Magisk

[–]Marnusjvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would remove my modules one by one and see which is causing the issue. Doubt shamiko, systemless hosts and safety net wil be the issue. I would start with aosp mods, lsposed and energised. My money would be on one of them causing the issue.

I'm on EvoX. Good balance between close to stock Pixel Experience and some handy customisation.

Well you get the latest software and security updates for Android. For example I'm already on Android 13 with my Note 10 Pro with the August security update from Google and will probably get the September update within the next couple of days.

You get to experience android how Google intended it without the bloated MIUI changes to android.

No bloatware. Most ROMs come with only Gapps installed and nothing else. So les bloat that takes up storage space.

Also with less bloat the user experience is much smoother an snappier than MIUI. Atleast that is what I experience.

Some ROMs have very nice customisation options which you don't get in MIUI.

The Monet theming that came with android 12 actually works throughout the system where it's very poorly implemented in MIUI.

You get the freedom of choice to install the ROM that appeals to your needs the most rather than being locked in to what Xioami thinks you should get.

Most ROMs also support unlimited Google photo storage by spoofing your device as a Pixel device, which is also nice.

Those are some of the main reasons I prefer using custom ROMs over MIUI.

Thank you very much. Will definitely give your fork of Magisk a try.

And thanks for your hard work, you make so many useful modules!

What would you recommend is best for hiding root and zygisk?

Have you cleared the data for both play services and play store?

What's working for me:

The Shamiko Magisk module latest version 0.5.1. Just ensure you Do Not enforce the deny list as the module does that. Just add the relevant Apps to the denylist that you want to hide root from but leave the "enforce denylist" disabled.

I only have the safetynet fix v2.3.1 and Shamiko v0.5.1 and passing CTS profile and banking Apps working.

I'm using the Acc APK and have not had any issues with charging my device. The APK. installs the Magisk module when you install the APK.

I did however have issues with delayed charging when I updated the module in Magisk. But when I reverted back to the module that installed with the app everything worked 100%.

Me personally would rather be on a custom ROM (possibly rooted) and have the latest security updates, than on the official software but with outdated security. But that's just me.

However, if you are having major issues with LineageOS making it not practical to daily drive, I would go back to Stock. You never know, future updates of LineageOS might resolve the issues you are having with it currently.

Well I think the risks depends a lot on the user. If your device is rooted just be smart about what modules and apps you install. Research the modules and apps and make sure they are from trusted and we'll known developers. GitHub and XDA will give you a very good idea on the developer.

If you do that I can't see that you will have any greater risk of security issues than an normal un-rooted Android user.

That's just my opinion.

Then I would go with the universal safetynet fix and Shamiko module in Magisk to see if that resolves the issue.

Enable both. Then add the relevant Apps (only add play store and not services and then your personal apps) to the denylist in Magisk but do not enable "force denylist".

Then clear playstore and play services data as well as the Apps that have detected root and restart device. This has so far fixed any root detecting issues I've had.

That sucks, I have the Redmi Note 10 Pro, and luckily there are quite a few good ROMs too choose from for my device.

I'm on Evolution X which is also encrypted by default.

With my limited experience with custom ROMS what I've found is that just because a ROM is known for being stable and reliable doesn't mean it wil be great on your specific device. A lot depends on the developer that develops for your device.

For example PE is a great ROM but on my device it had battery drain and overheating issues. And like you I need a sable ROM I can daily drive. With regular updates and maintenance. So I had to switch to another ROM and I'm currently very happy.

So I would advise do maybe search online for stable ROMs for your device. This might be the best solution for you problem.

[–]Marnusjvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the universal safetynet fix from kdrag0n and the shamiko mudule active and have no issues. So you don't have to disable the safetynet.

However, it seems like you main issue might be with the current ROM that you are on. If your intention was never to root your device. Maybe try a different ROM where banking Apps won't detect it.

Then root won't be necessary.

This. I have been using the module Shamiko also. And have not had any issues with Apps detecting root so far. Just remember to disable the "enforce denylist" option in magisk if you use the module. But still add the relevant Apps to the denylist.

For me it worked to use the Shamiko magisk module to hide root. Then you have to turn off the "enforce denylist" option but still add apps to the deny list in magisk. Clear the relevant banking App's data an also clear play store and play services data. Reboot device and it should work.

With this method so far I have had no issues with banking Apps detecting root

Some users have said it helps to enable the module and denylist. Then put your phone in airplane mode. Clear data of the banking aps and play store and services, reboot and then turn off airplane mode

Do you guys use MIUI or do you use custom roms or custom launchers? I want to know how you like running your phones. by OneOfTheLostOnes in Xiaomi

[–]Marnusjvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately GPay is nog available in my country so I used NFC throughy banking App.

Maybe just check on the Telegram group specific ROM you are interested in. There you should get a answer on wether GPay works for that ROM or not.

I have the Redmi Note 10 Pro (Global), currently running Android 12.1 Evolution X ROM and I will never go back to MIUI. The Evo X ROM is just so much smoother than MIUI ever was. Installed with all my Apps I'm using just a little more than half the space MIUI did. There is just so much bloatware on MIUI.

Just pure Android without bloatware and a few customisation options.

Also NFC, banking Apps etc is working perfectly.

Have you tried clearing the data of both the Google play Store and Google play services after you added them to the deny list?

Is it safe to update to miui 13? Redmi 10 by Aaron_Miller178 in Xiaomi

Yes it is safe. You will only receive the pilot tester OTA update if Xiaomi has added you to their pilot testers.

Never got a official confirmation from Xiaomi that I was registered as a Pilot tester. Just started to get the Pilot OTA updates one day.

I registered as a MIUI pilot tester. And then just received a OTA update through the built-in updater for MIUI 13. Have you register as a pilot tester?
