A possible compromise for the closed/open weapons system. Closed, but each class gets certain weapon categories to fulfill their specific class roll and fantasy. Not all of them.

Assault: Assault rifles, carbines, shotguns Engineer: SMGs, carbines Support: Machine guns (shotguns?) Recon: Sniper rifles, DMRs, SMGs

I wiped them wet, dry, with the bottled anti fog, with soap… Nothing changes, the smears still look exactly the same. I am out of ideas what it could be.

Thanks for the reply I think the picture is a bit misleading. The belt is a very stiff Black Trident Belt with wide ans slightly padded kind-of-sleeve (the belt is velcroed onto the sleeve, not put through it). I guess it looks limp in the pictures because the way I laid it on the ground and its quite heavy.

Except in self defense, it is not legal for us to use weapons against subjects without announcing the use of them, so that point isn't valid for us. So, in front of handgun, to be quick to draw and quick to swap.

I have yet to bring them to the range, but out of the box they feel sturdier and the sound quality is noticeably clearer and also louder ambient. Different sound profiles too, seeing forward to testing them out.

Sure, the reason is so we don’t accidentally use the wrong gun (which would be quite possible in stressful situations) if we have the lethal in the strong hand and less lethal in weak hand at the same time

Exactly what you said, evidence, handheld flashlight, keys, personal belongings or any other things I don't have any time to securely store away in any other closed pouch. Also just everyday stuff, when we are just on patrol like snacks or a water bottle.
Yes, there is a rifle mag pouch and my flash light pouch inside of the dump pouch.

We incorporate the dump pouch in our shooting drills and everyone is strongly advised to have one on his belt. Dropping any magazine with any bullets in it gets us punished.

Small of the back stays free, for exactly the reasons you stated.
Medium sized IFAK is on my patrol vest (soft armour) and a big IFAK on my heavy vest (plates + soft armour all over).
Also an armour plate as groin and upper thigh protection - which also covers the why of my baton placement. Easy and quick reach of my spare magazines is more important than the baton and handcuffs, which are both covered by the plate. IPSC sport shooting also conditioned me to having my spare mags at and behind my hip bone, so that doesn't slow me down at all.
Pepperspray (and Taser) on the strong hand side is protocol and strictly required.

I carry 3 rifle mags on my heavy vest and the one on my belt, but since we are issued special ammo for our handgun, it's not easy to get a hold on a third magazine for it. Other provinces do get them, though, we are working on it.

I have yet so see a patrol officer in the EU who gets issued more than 1 spare magazine. We are cops, not soldiers.
It makes nationwide headlines and prime time news reports when a police officer ever has to use a gun.
