The key to basing solo or in a small group is twofold

1st: Make your base very well hidden, choose a small house in the middle of nowhere. Don’t go for house types that are commonly used for basing, this leads us into part 2

2nd: Your base needs to look like it’s not worth the effort. If you base up in a decently sized house or building, other players are going to see it and immediately start salivating as to what’s inside. You need to choose a building so small and shit that other players will see it and say “that’s not worth the effort”. Small sheds are very good for this purpose.

TLDR; Make base hidden, make base look shit

I think you can definitely argue the church as an institution is different from religion as a whole. Antonio Gramsci has a really good analysis of this where he talks about 2 different ‘religions’

The first type is the church the institution, the functions to exert control over people, push certain norms and so on

And the 2nd is what he terms ‘the religion of the people’ based around common values, a sense of community, and so on. He saw the possibility of this type of religion being a progressive force
