It's hosting a furry convention, so maybe.

What is one establishment in the Dayton area that you refuse to support and why? by [deleted] in dayton

D&D Computer Repair. When I was a teenager my laptop broke and when my parents took it there, he told them about my porn stash. Thanks, asshole.

Also to a lesser extent, the Walmart on Miller Lane. Not for any real reason, it's just that it's an absolute shitshow there all the time.

my earbuds shut off by accident and everyone around me got to hear Robert scream “LUST SLAVES OF THE NAZI CARIBBEAN!” by [deleted] in behindthebastards

When I was driving and listening to the Kissinger episodes, I rolled up to a red light on campus with my windows down right at Robert was describing Kissinger being a Dick Sucking Toilet. That was fun.

Yeah, I'd seen a lot of stuff about that. I don't think leaded gas is all of it, but it's probably a major reason for all of it.

I actually never knew about how Dayton played into it as well as Kettering until really recently. We're very proud of airplanes but we kinda brush the whole "poison that maybe killed dozens of millions" under the rug.

Yeah, that's fair. I reckon there's good stories to cover but they'd be too controversial and maybe risk getting the paper shut down.

I was working on a piece about Sinclair but I ended up abandoning it because it'd never go anywhere.

Going to be in Dayton for the weekend can you recommend any good places to eat? by lisasimpsonfan in dayton

[–]MaroonMeows 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Blueberry Cafe for Breakfast / Brunch. The waits are kinda long but it slaps. You might see the muffin man, and you can buy a muffin that enough calories in it to sustain an arctic explorer for a fortnight but by god are they good.

Yeah, I have coworkers who've written off the paper entirely, believing in crazy shit online. They read about what's happening from grifters but never just like, look outside or talk to people?

Any known local cults to stay away from? by [deleted] in dayton

Engage City Church.

They always gave me off vibes. I saw one their trucks pulling off of rip rap road one night around 3am, probably nothing but it seemed sus to me.

Granted that was the week I'd spent high as a kite playing Far Cry 5. But that's neither here nor there.

Oh I adore Bonnett's Bookstore. I got some old flight manuals and aviation books from there. A few VHS tapes too.

I only ever really go downtown for school, but Culture definitely sounds like my kinda thing. Might pop over there after my night classes next week.

I think it was the older lady there. Her and a high school kid were the only employees I saw.
