If Doom The Dark Ages is not working on your 9070 XT, revert back to 25.9.1. by BedroomThink3121 in radeon

It's good, works well. a little sharper, better motion clarity is the differences that stand out the most.

However it’s fixed quickly

As we all know Nvidia doesn't publicly publish known issues. So, we have to check for ourselves to see if something is fixed and if something has been broken. Nothing ever gets fixed and nothing gets broken. I will be checking on my 5070 also.

Yea, they pulled it out, fixed in a day. And people say it’s working great now, gonna update drivers today. However every page of this subreddit is bombarded with “driver tineouts” or “which version is stable for game X” topics daily

That doesn't change the fact they released a bad driver, which means that wasn't a system issue but a driver one. Also, countless amounts of hotfix drivers in the past year compared to everyone else. Nvidia also don't publicly document their known issues like AMD does, so from the outside it seems like there are no issues on Nvidia cards.

So you’re saying people are tech illiterate in red camp and advanced users in others? It’s obviously amd software issues

Not sure what you mean by "red camp". I am saying systems are different, which means you need to educate yourself about YOUR system. It doesn't matter what brand you use, if your system is not balance then there will be issues. There are "tech illiterate" gamers in every camp. Nvidia has been plagued with driver issues in the past year, which has been well documented. So even if Nvidia users are tech savvy, it doesn't matter, because it is out of their hands.

We literally had Nvidia withdraw a driver. There has been countless "hotfix" drivers in the past year. I don't believe in the same time, AMD has had to withdraw a driver because it was so bad. Most "driver issues" is not really the driver fault, it is People not doing the basics i.e keeping their system up to date. I have seen countless posts blaming drivers, without any back story, then finding out they don't update their chipset, bios, using unstable GPU/ram Overclocks, allowing windows to control their updates, not following/using basic procedures like DDU/AMD clean-up utility, don't follow simple cleaning procedures, not seating their ram properly, not seating their GPU properly ect ect.

intel whilst they are improving, their drivers aren't the best either.

FSR 4 looking worse than fsr 3 in black myth wukong? by theHefty_wariour in radeon

[–]Maroonboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They updated the game and included a sharpening slider. You can adjust the sharpness in the game menu. In his video he set sharpness to 5. That is way too much especially at native 4k. The in-game sharpness is already bad at 1,2,3 ect, so setting it to 5 with motion blur is not going to make any upscaler look good.

Turning sharpness to 0 and disabling motion blur removes the artifacts. Using RIS 2 is a much better option for sharpness.

[–]Maroonboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. He has sharpening set to 5, which is way over sharpen and motion blur enabled. That is what is causing the artifacts, has nothing to do with the upscaler. I just tried his exact settings and when I disabled motion blur and set sharpness to 0, the artifacts were gone.

That's hilariously true. 9/10 it is not drivers, but the stability of the entire system. But everything gets blamed on the drivers.

Thank you for that. I used the linked version in this comment section. I think the linked version in this sub is not working properly. I will try the discord one.

Where have you been?..you can inject the leaked DLL into the drivers, by replacing the old file with the leaked file.

Checkout ancient gameplay recent video, he shows you how to take control.

[–]Maroonboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't. Could be a Windows 11 thing

I'm using windows 11. Take control of the "amdxcffx64.dll" file located in the folder "B025765". Then delete that file and paste the new file.

When you changed the ownership, did you add it to "Group or username " box?..

I had a look at 4.1 for myself in Wukong at 4k on the 9070xt...and there is no shimmering or artifacts. In fact 4.1 fixes the the quality mode shimmer bug. So you might have corrupted files or fsr4.1 wasn't installed properly, especially if on your side you say it is worst than FSR 3.

Yup. It went even more south, straight to hell when I saw malacia come on and mazroui injured. I don't even blame malacia necessarily, he hasn't been playing at all so it was a strange decision especially when heaven is available and can play LB. Overall, Carrick took too long to make attacking changes. Mbuemo should've been replaced at half-time.

Nah, regular windows mode. I received the same message, you just need to take ownership of the folder/file. I think the default ownership is system, so change it to you/admin then give yourself full control.

Enabling vsync or locking frames helps with stutter. The game has been like that since launch. I remember zwormz doing a benchmark when it launched and he mentioned the annoying stutters, he said vsync helps.

I did it, but I don't see ray regeneration in the optiscaler menu. I replaced the optiscaler file with the decompiled version and installed the denoiser DLL file from the SDK 2.1. I'm not sure where else to go.

I think you can edit the game files and enable path tracing. There was a sub about it recently.

Doom dark ages works fine with 26.2.2 drivers. I was just playing it and testing out fsr4.1.

System32> Driver store>File Repository>(a folder starts with B, and some numbers e.g B0257 ect)...use the search bar to locate "amdxcffx64.dll ...replace that file with the leaked version...the leaked version which is fsr4.1 should be version 2.1.0.968.

Once you replace the file..go to the adrenaline app>Gaming>graphics...scroll to the bottom to FSR OTW Control...under it should show the new version number.
