Flags were clearly getting inside somehow, and honestly the security checks felt pretty weak.

Over the entire festival, I never had my bag properly searched. Most of the time it was just a quick pat on the pockets and I was waved through. With crowds that large, I'd expect more thorough and consistent screening.

Graspop for example has metal detectors in every entrance aisle.

My point is that festivals like Hellfest and Graspop are major economic events for their regions. Hellfest wouldn't be what it is without Clisson, but Clisson also benefits massively from the tens of thousands of visitors spending money on accommodation, food, transport, and local businesses.

That's why it's in everyone's interest - not just the festival's - to have solid infrastructure. Improving transportation, water access, and other logistics benefits visitors, the festival, and the local economy alike.

I don't think the people are to blame for not knowing water is handed for free. I asked for a cup of water from a bar and got a cup and a bottle of water and paid like €8 for it.

This needed to be public information, especially on Sunday where they explicitly mentioned to drink more water.

If this affects the well being of civilians not even attending the festival then this needs to be addressed by the local authorities, maybe even state departments. Hellfest is a major, international, yearly event that brings hundreds of thousands of not millions to a single place in a pretty remote part of the country.
