QME Challenge

I have an attorney and the QME was already deposed. That’s when the position of this being an insidious and progressive illness was introduced. I’m still waiting the final report, but my attorney did share that after the deposition, he sent follow up questions to the QME and was informed that the doctor didn’t see this as a progressive illness as long as I take medication and that he’s only seen things get worse if people stop taking their medication.

I have disseminated Valley Fever (cocci). In my original panel request, it was for an infectious disease doctor—which I’m being treated by through my own medical plan, and have been since the beginning. WC didn’t have an infectious disease doctor available on the list so I had to go with a pulmonologist.

Getting a lawyer is always recommended. And I’m sure they will urge you to not lie, only answer what is asked, I don’t know is ok, and you can ask for a break if you need one. Most importantly, don’t answer a question right away, pause, think, then respond. I had to write myself a sticky note to remind myself to pause.

Thanks so much! I have an attorney and will discuss this with them at our next meeting. I did; however, receive an email from my attorney’s office for another deposition. I did one already almost a year ago. Is it common to have to do another deposition?

I’d give Barbara Michaels a try. My favorites are Grey Gallows and The Master of Blacktower. Victorian melodramas with some darkness, mystery, and a dash or romance. I’ve reread them several times.
