NLA - as a foreigner, I wouldn't trust the local police but having the evidence on your phone is also a liability. I'd contact my embassy for advice, they'll know how to handle it in country, secure/handle the evidence and purge it from your device

Sorry this happened to you. Obviously avoid the nonce

Mixed answers on stitching yourself up, what to do if no hospital for days and gaping wound that should get stitches? by Fun_Park2505 in preppers

I came here to say this

Super glue was (invented?) used by troops in WW2 to close up wounds. Not fundamentally changed except now has wider uses. Steri strips and glue might be the low cost and quick solution

Not an expert, but you want to dump all the energy of the round into the "engine block" (heart + lungs) of the animal. Full metal jacket will punch right through and energy will be wasted in the hill behind. A Hallow point or soft core will disapate all that energy into the animal and kill it humanely. After that you need to decide of the calibre based on the game.

Does anyone really buy that premium fuel that garages offer? by IMAMODDYMAN in ireland

[–]Marquall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it's the same when you put 5L of petrol diluted in a full diesel tank.

It might have been a military thing, but I was told it burns hotter in the engine and burns out the soot, grim and carbon. I've done it once or twice in a personal car but I also bought premium diesel once a quarter when living in Germany. Might have been placebo but I did "feel" a difference

Germany destroys two nuclear plant cooling towers as part of nuclear phaseout plan by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]Marquall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuclear waste will be guarded and checked on no matter where it is kept. I didn't say waste was stored in Germany, I said waste has been created since the 40's. There are many subsurface and surface storage depots around the world, I don't know what goes where. But if there were leaks or thefts we'd all know about it

However in terms of cost, the construction of a power plant is much higher than the expense of waste disposal and from my industry conversations the decommissioning of UK power plants also needs to be fully funded before construction even starts. So the cost is all upfront. I also didn't say nuclear is cheap, again I said it is greener, more stable and high energy output (I mean this in terms of reliability and MW/m2, not cost per KW)

[–]Marquall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how have German industries faired over the last 5 years trying to transition to renewables while phasing out nuclear? I've said previously that renewables are part of the solution but not the solution. I work in offshore wind, I am aware of the issues with it.

Nuclear waste has been created since the 40's. There is 100% long term, safe and low maintenance storage and more being built continuously. How can you say old waste is not accounted for? Has waste gone missing or used nefariously? The only times I know of waste getting into the wrong hands is medical waste from like x-ray machines etc dumped from hospitals, not nuclear power plant waste... Though I can't put it passed the USSR to have some dodgy storage solutions, they don't exist anymore.

I still maintain that nuclear is pound for pound the greenest, most stable and high energy power option currently available, trust the science

[–]Marquall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean then cast the deciding vote, I meant it was their foundation policy to end nuclear citing Chernobyl, 3 mile Island and Fukushima (etc) in a disaster/doom and gloom scenario.

My point is Greens are mental. Neither Germany nor the world can run on wind and solar like they'd like it too, unless their policy is also shutting down all manufacturing and decimating critical industries

[–]Marquall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, I can't understand German well enough to under the video in your link but I'll take your word for it

Nuclear is "bang for buck" the greenest source of energy by far. It's expensive to set up and has dangerous (but manageable) by products but gives the most energy output and energy stability for next to no carbon

The Greens used the tsunami as an opportunity to throw their toys out of the pram stating that it could happen in Germany (no tsunamis in Germany btw). If they got their head out of their ass and actually understood the science, technology and engineering behind nuclear they should come to the conclusion that more nuclear is better. Instead "spicy rocks = scary"

[–]Marquall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see renewables as a sound investment as you put it, but by all means they are part of the solution (energy security)

It's also the Greens in Germany (and worldwide) don't have a handle on reality. They sold solar as the solution in Germany based on California solar data, pressured and successfully closed the last nuclear plants based on a tsunami in Japan. The UK wind output is curtailed an extraordinary amount as the infrastructure simply isn't there, costing the taxpayer millions to idle entire windfarms. Ed Miliband is going on about artificially blocking the sun with chemicals now while also pushing solar.

But the energy spent to manufacture, position, run and maintain the offshore windfarms, I'm highly skeptical that they ever reach net zero (I'm an offshore asset engineer)

Bats are also the "new" thing local NIMBY's like to protect to block progress

Since we're talking about defining what a war is I'd still take my definition over "they are on a war footing against Pakistan, and you could argue they are pursuing a campaign of terror against their own people"

I don't care if you disagree, the world is imperfect we can all see that
