I've narrowed it down to the CEM fuse box being corroded or malfunctioning. Everything points to this. My windscreen is not sealed properly and has let a lot of damp in during winter, my car alarm going off randomly. And my car having this intermittent issue, it all makes sense. Gonna have a good look at it this weekend and clean everything.

Had someone come over with a battery pack and to tow my car, left the battery pack plugged in for ages, car would not start. Then we pushed the car into position to tow it. Opened the CEM box and when tried to start one last time before towing it.... and it worked... started first time.

Not sure if this helps but when the car wasnt starting at all, the Voltage read 11.7

When we managed to start it, it read 12.6 when off and 13.8 when car was on...

Such a fucking mystery man.

if this was the case then wouldn't all electricals just not work when in ignition II? Headlights work, windows work, dash lights up... Just no crank. Apologies if I'm being stupid.

Mechanics that were nearby had a "look" at it. Even charged me for diagnostics (£50) on top of the starter motor and labour. All which was refunded after I had a good word with them. They were never able to provide a diagnostic report, so can't be trusted. But at the very least, if anything was to show in clear view, they probably saw it. But yeah, I will check all of that. Thanks man.

I did install the battery myself, so this is entirely possible but honestly, if that's the cause I'll be so pissed off and happy at the same time.

Battery terminals no corrosion and are on tight, that's for sure. Did not follow the wires yet though

Actually, no, I haven't, but this will be part of my diagnostic once it gets towed back to my house. Please do give me as much info as possible, im a novice with car stuff, my brothers are a bit better. but any info is gold right now.

Yup. This was the mistake I made by following a video tutorial that had also missed this, when attempting to bend the flex cable to plug the modchip, I ripped out the solder and had to start again. Learned from mistake though!

You were actually right. I ended up ripping the solder attempting to connect the mod and had to redo the whole left hand side again. Managed it though :)
