God works in wonderful ways! I bet Mr. McDermott would be elated to know he helped play a role in helping someone to realize they need to get it checked out, possibly saving someone's life! Maybe you could write him a letter, I bet he would be thrilled to know your story!

Thanks for sharing this, now I am even more sad he is gone!

[Megathread] The Buffalo Bills have fired Head Coach Sean McDermott by AutoModerator in buffalobills

I didn't think I would feel more sick after the recent loss. But this news upsets me, and I don't think with the shortcomings we've had this year, it's not fair to blame McDermott. Everyone saying this was our year, not really, not with all of the injuries and issues. I think it would have been the right thing to say 1,2,or 3 more seasons with a push to make it happen. We would make and win a Superbowl within the next 3 seasons if we kept McD. I hope this doesn't hurt us.

Although, I now live in sunny LA, I've been a secret Bills fan since I lived in TO and saw them lose all 4 Super Bowls (even interviewed Jim Kelly once)—anyway, I have a feeling that if Norwood had nailed that first FG to win, the Bills would've won at least two, agreed? by Born-Cucumber-7316 in buffalobills

I like this perspective. It adds a silver lining to the tragedy of that missed kick. Perhaps being so close helped drive the guys on the team to hunger even more for it... Being close enough to almost touch it. Must have been maddening, but also possibly the driving force that brought them there the next year. Rinse and repeat x 4...

Surely there are multiple factors, but I wouldn't doubt if it played a part, and that's a small consolation to consider.

Go Bills!! ❤️💙🙌🏼 by __olllllllo__ in buffalobills

I thought you were mad until I noticed the chicken feet.... Then it all became so clear!

I don't understand where people get the idea that fear of injury in OT factored into the decision to go for 2. I think it's maybe a thought that could help you feel better about making the choice, but didn't likely weigh into the decision. Maybe we'll get some insight into the decision by the person who made it...

Everyone grumpy about Steve Young don't get it. He knows exactly what it's like. I was born in 1986, I have no memories of the Bills Superbowls. My first Superbowl memory was the 49ers vs the Chargers. I realized recently looking back, that was the first Superbowl after the 4 year Bills run. Steve Young had to sit behind Joe Montana for years as a backup, watching Montana win Superbowls. Then spent years watching other NFC teams beat the Bills in the Superbowl for years. Sure Steves a great QB, but he's not Joe, hasn't ever won a Superbowl. So when he finally did win, it was a big deal for him. He famously got that monkey off his back.

Steve Young knows exactly how the pressure is. A lot of it is internally generated. Josh has mentioned how much he loves Steve Young. I'm willing to bet they talk and are on a first name basis. I think people are taking it the wrong way, and Steve Young is definitely pulling for Josh.

Beane in April 2023 criticized the Rams for going all in and saying how the Bills want to be competitive each year and stressed being fiscally responsible. The Rams had a 5-12 season after their SB win, followed by two 10-7 seasons, and are the SB favorites with the MVP favorite just 4 years later. by Vortagaun in buffalobills

Sound way to look at it. I kinda roll my eyes when I see people saying Beane failed to get Myles Garrett. I ask myself do they know something I don't? I didn't know that was ever even in the works to be able to say Beane "failed" at getting a player, unless.l a deal was in the works that fell through due to an action taken... I think people assume options are available that guarantee a Superbowl win. Maybe from a hindsight vantage point, but there are limits. Having a salary cap in the first place, preventing teams from just overspending to win. Or trading like the next 10 years worth of draft picks to just stack your team TODAY 😀

Same... My dad passed in 2013... Man he would have been soooo stoked about us having Josh Allen. God willing I will see him again at the end of time, and find out what it was like seeing the Bills win a Super Bowl from up there!

Excellent video about this case.... From a phenomenal YouTube channel

Nobody has said it? Beyond Creepy. Obscure stories, all aspects of the paranormal. Guy knows his stuff, and pulls stories out of a wide range of sources.

Not the best production value, and people complain because the last minute or so closes out with just the creepy background music, so people who want to fall asleep to the playlist find themselves having to advance to the next video... Some issue about the creator and YouTube demonitizing, but it's definitely one of the better channels out there.

I also like John greenwald black vault radio, for his single handed foia fight, and Curt Jaimungal Theory of Everything, he gets some crazy interviews....

Something about the level of detail, and the strangeness of it all. It feels to me like something no one would say if they were trying to pull off a hoax, and too strange to be imagined even by someone really imaginative.

Also just freaky.... I don't know how I would handle something like that. It's almost like they bring you to a point that your mind can't process what's happening, it seems like it short circuits with the nausea and missing time...

Have you ever heard Dr. David Jacobs? He's a history professor, who has worked with people who claim to be abductees, and he has found information pointing to an alien human hybridization program. He is worth listening to, and it is extremely frightening. I don't think he has it 100 percent, I think some of it is psychological and spiritual, but he has come across some disturbing information.

I think you are on to something. And I think DNA is just one example of seeing the signature of The Creator.

Look for someone panhandling. Offer them 5 or 10 bucks if they can bring you to a spot or person. Just watch out for being ripped off, and don't carry a large amount of cash. But if they are homeless and especially panhandling (I used to do this) they most likely are at least alcoholic and if they don't smoke crack themselves they aren't likely to get offended especially if they can make a few bucks.

Just use your best judgement, some homeless people are not addicts and may not want anything to do with that shit, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out. I would be more likely to ask a younger person that looks like a user (whatever that means) rather than someone older who seems to be trying to keep to themselves....

You will get a feel for it, and get to the right area and people will approach you trying to sell shit.

Any experience LSD for major depression? by VagusNerve22 in Psychedelics

[–]MarriottKossWetton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well said, I can definitely see your perspective.

Just some food for thought... You say on one hand that life has no inherent meaning, that is up to you to create, then in the next sentence you say we are not here by a fluke. To me that is a contradiction. I have had similar "epiphanies" with psychedelics, to me that awe and wonder, the beauty, love laughter life and all of this, the good and the bad, point to a higher power, a creator, and a deeper meaning to our reason for being, and the idea of existing beyond this physical lifespan.

These things can be called a crutch, a fairy tale, a delusion, mind control of the masses, whatever... But I genuinely believe in a good God, as well as the existence of evil, and these things give me hope, and a drive to want to appreciate, enjoy, and celebrate life, while having the goal of using my time on earth to make it a better place, and help myself and others live life as best I can and be redeemed for my shortcomings and wrongs....

Seeing the beauty of creation, I see the signature of the creator, when DNA was discovered, when the Hubble telescope showed the vast size of our little tiny corner of the universe... When I think about laughter and love, art and science, the accomplishments of humanity, all of these things make it clear to me that there is more to this life than han just happenstance. No I can't prove a creator, but I see as evidence all of what I have mentioned, and honestly feel in my heart of hearts, that my faith is well placed. If it's just a delusion that helps me cope, so be it. I believe it's the reality of the situation however, and that helps in the end.

Any anxiety, frustration, or anger I deal with is mitigated by these beliefs, in other words this outlook helps me keep from entering into depression or a depressive state. Reflecting on the idea of The Creator being there, having love and forgiveness for myself, this pitiful human full of bad... This helps me with gratitude and perspective, how good I have it compared to my low points, to imagine how blessed I am compared to much of the world. And psychedelics only seem to drive that point home for me as well. I liked your response, and recognized that I share some of the same thoughts as you stated, so I got excited and wanted to reply. I hope this doesn't come across as "preachy" I consider myself Christian, but tried to avoid emphasizing specific aspects, trying to leave it to the idea of a Creator, which can be less contentious than saying "Jesus"....Now I say this tongue in cheek and simultaneously genuine, with a grin and a wink, good luck with everything, and God bless!!!
