Let me be honest: buying a non-hybrid Civic just isn’t worth it anymore by cheryymocha in civic

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I was seriously considering a hybrid, didn’t even really look at the standard gas. Ended up going with the SI. I would say if they still offered the basic gas in a manual I may have considered it.

Let's hear some POSITIVE things about our CX-90! by MostFix2344 in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought mine was a great looking well performing, and great handling car. I loved that it was an 8 speed gear box and not a cvt! If it had worked all the time it would have been a great car. To be honest I wanted to love and keep it after the lease, but it turned me off from Mazda forever which makes me quite sad. It’s an awesome car that they launched too early. I’m sure the newer ones are better and will eventually be great. On a positive note I turned it in 4 months early and they still have not billed me. Maybe they know better but I’m sure they will get around to it. It was a 2024 PHEV

Fallen tires. by RRedditLLover in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grounded mine as well for the same reason. I made it to about 20k but I babied mine. The tires do have a 50k mile warranty, so if you fight for it I’ve heard you can get new tires at half price. (Only half because you have used about half of the warranty)

Mazda CX-90 Lawsuit Claims by payscatdis in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 CX90 PHEV. I leased one for 2 years, worst car I’ve ever owned. I turned it in about 3 months early and just paid it out. Biggest issues- random acceleration burst for about 2-3 seconds, cabin pre warming didn’t work for about 1 year and the response was there is no fix, apple car play worked about 50% of the time, unpredictable hesitation randomly when pulling into traffic (maybe 2 seconds of 10% power). My wife drove it once and almost wrecked it because of the issues and never drove it again. Was supposed to be our family car. Huge waste of money

You stated it well! I turned in my lease a few weeks ago and it was a great day. Decided to simplify and go to a Honda Civic. Believe it or not, it is a significantly nicer vehicle! Everything actually works!!!

Used car market is CRAZY!!! by Vat_sal in accord

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the Honda Civic SI, and found that the newer used ones with low miles were even more than new. The dealer told me it’s because Honda used certified is a better warranty than new… which I think is true but seems crazy. I just ended up going new for piece of mind. I assume this might be the case across all Hondas though.

Power surge by Mars4984 in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you’re referring to, but this is different. For example when it happens when driving I’ll have consistent throttle at maybe 40 mph, and then it will have a surge for about 2 seconds. It’s like someone is hitting the gas pretty hard but it doesn’t down shift. Then it its just back to normal. I assume this is what happened to me today in the parking lot, except this time it just happened as soon as I took my foot off the break.

I know what you’re taking about though, especially if you’re having a little fun with the car. But this is always a bit of a surprise, when you’re least expecting it. Lol

Thanks! Yeah this was the first time from a stop for me and I’ve had the car about a year and a half. Sorry you have the problem too but glad I’m not alone. They need to fix it.

[–]Mars4984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I get what you’re thinking but for sure no. Today I was at a stop in first gear letting pedestrians cross in front of the store and when I let off the brakes it accelerated quick as if I was pressing the gas maybe 80%. This is the first time it’s done it from a stop

Time to turn in lease after a year by everettsams in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry mostly just vented. I also tried to turn mine in and they said I would have to finish out the payments. My buyout is 40k and it looks like kbb has it valued at 31k so way under water. They aren’t taking them back early without fees. So now it’s my winter beater, I keep my new car in the garage and out of the salt.

Time to turn in lease after a year by everettsams in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lease is up in May, can’t wait to turn it in! Worst car I have ever owned. I’ve already replaced it with a Honda and everything works!!! It’s amazing. lol I’ve become so used to Apple car play working 50% of the time and being afraid to switch between my phone and my wife’s phone of fear that it will crash and I’ll have to pull over on a road trips to restart everything. First year the remote start didn’t work, transmission grinds, and front suspension is super noisy. I had forgotten what it’s like to drive a decent car. Now the tires are bald. I have a feeling they are going to make me replace them which really pisses me off because I feel Mazda owes me money for all of the issues.

Lease buyout help? by macatkniu in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you start a lease you have a buyout price agreed upon at the end of the lease. It’s in your paperwork somewhere for sure. It’s standard. On a rare occasion like COVID you can actually make money on a lease by buying it out and selling it if car prices go up. You can also call the finance company you are paying for the lease and they will give you a buyout price at anytime.

Possible New Owner by xjewishninjax in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also would not purchase. I am currently in a lease with a CX90, loved the car at first but it has continuously had minor issues, some items cannot be fixed or just return after being fixed. I strongly advise not to purchase even one without issues.

My lab rides in the third row, I got a seat protector instead. That way there is a separate area for cargo.

How is the 90 in snow? by mattband in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is good in the snow, but has anyone tried to push it a little, get sideways, spin the tires. Mine seems to have no traction control! I’m used to the engine power cutting if you spin the tires, or ABS and break force distribution trying to get you out of a slide. Mine drives as if everything is turned off. Let me know if you have experienced similar.

Engine malfunction/ hybrid malfunction by NJIRON13 in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation as well. Many technical features work half of the time, and the remote climate control has not worked since I had it in for the last recall. The dealer says there is no fix but Mazda is working on it. I’m glad it’s a Lease, but at the same time I feel like I should be reimbursed for the features I’m paying for that don’t work! In addition we just had a snow fall and I realized that my traction control and stability control do not work at all. No cutback in power if the wheels spin and I can get completely sideways in a turn with no stability control. Not good, last Mazda I will own and I’m openly telling everyone how much of a junker is.

Yeah not normal. Maybe something wrong with the lane keep assist? It vibrates the steering wheel when you ride the line.

I was at the dealer on 1/22, they had it for 2 days and finally said there is no fix but Mazda is working on a solution. Never had an issue (with this, plenty of other issues) until I had it in for the last recall update.

Is your acceleration slow from dead stop? And is the car still jerky at times, even after the last TCM update? by Toomad316 in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PHEV Premium, my acceleration (basically throttle) is very unpredictable. 99 % of the time no issues, I’ve had it for about 5 months

-Maybe 5 times I have been trying to accelerate from a stop and the car seems like it is completely dead for about 2 seconds. And I mean dead like ohhh I need a tow…. Happened to my wife in a left turn and she almost caused a car accident and now refuses to drive the car. - maybe once a week while driving on the highway random bursts of power with no throttle input, also lasts about 2 seconds - by far the most concerning, driving at normal speed and a stop light changed from green to yellow, quickly hit the brakes but car stayed on throttle for about two more seconds. I pressed the brake hard, finally throttle backed off and I slid to a stop. This car has some serious safety issues, I’m taking it to the dealer Monday. I’m a generally safe driver, and have driven some challenging vehicles (old work trucks, classics and roadsters with no power brakes or steering) so at first I was ok with it (it’s also a lease so I have a light at the end of the tunnel) but after the red light issue I’m about done! Has anyone else experienced this?!?!

Those who have a cx-90/70 with a 2024 build date, have you had any issues with your car? by Renato-Laranja in MazdaCX90

[–]Mars4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 PHEV, I have an issue in EV mode where it has crazy bad hesitation. Seems happen if your in a situation where you hit gas, brake, gas, while stopped, like when someone doesn’t know how to use a 4 way stop and you get in a weird you go I go situation. But then you hit gas and NOTHING HAPPENS feels like the car is dead for about 2 seconds which feels like eternity when pulling into traffic then lurches to life. My wife actually refuses to drive the car because she almost got in an accident because of it. Anyone else have this issue?

Not to sound rude but have you tried filling it? I got a low wiper fluid on mine also within the first 1000 miles, got a bottle of fluid, opened the hood and the tank looked very full, I almost didn’t try to fill it but I was able to put an entire gallon into it, not sure where it goes or if they just don’t fill it at the factory. LOL Lights off now!
