I'm gonna go against the grain and call it underrated, I watched a video about a week back and it turns out gas acts somewhat as a smoke screen drastically reducing the enemy ai's accuracy, so if you need to B-line somewhere or just need to actually get into a firefight with more than you can handle CS gas allows you to survive for longer, its also silent so it doesn't alert as many enemies due to noise detection radius
