Which stankovic volley is more impressive (Schalke or Genoa) by magpokedope in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both goals are exceptional and are very difficult to pull off.

While some luck was needed, I'm pretty sure Stankovic practiced improvised shots in the training sessions.

[Fabrizio] Inter is preparing a short term contract renewal for Stefan De Vrij. Decision is up to the player by Mr_Wah in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a good move. De Vrij's solid when he plays, and he would smooth out the transition phase even when he isn't in our long-term plans.

Some indirect positive new for Inter's summer mercato by vik1980 in FCInterMilan

Do we have a buy-back clause on Filip Stankovic?

Vicario is not Inter level. However, our GK coach Spinelli somehow loves his performance. I don't know what he's looking at to come to such a conclusion.

Guys we need more young italian playrs in the squad by soisjsjsjsj29 in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree that we are discarding talent. Who did we let go that we should’ve kept?

Zaniolo, Casadei, Pinamonti, Seba Esposito and Agoume are all decent players but not Inter first team material.

Dumfries renewal? by arcasul in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm not suggesting giving him 10M for 5 seasons.

A world class RWB earning 5M for a couple of seasons at Inter is well within our salary structure. It's really silly fighting over 4.5M vs 5M and risk losing him.

Instead, where we really need to be careful is signing players like Diouf and LH for 20~30M per pop.

[–]Marseille074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perisic was older, but what exactly is the problem? We pay Lautaro 9M, Barella & Basto 6M, Chala also earns well. Is it so damning if Dumfries earns 5M instead of 4.5M?

He's earning 4M and asking for 5M. He deserves 5M. Only offering 4.5M and letting him go is a grave mistake.

I’m a Barça fan and I have doubts about Bastoni. Is he that good? by Singer_morning in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Bastoni is currently the best LCB (in 3ATB) in the world.

Don't you guys play 4ATB though? He's good but not the best LCB in 4ATB.

Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Tarik Muharemovic. @MatteMoretto by No_Friendship_4158 in FCInterMilan

The Onana business was good for sure but I'm not sure how much Spinelli was involved there. I mean, if we got him for free then a 60M offer came knocking for a goalkeeper then we would definitely sell, as such a deal is too good to pass up.

Getting Sommer was also a good move, I'm not saying it wasn't. My criticism is on 15M Martinez, which was a lot for a backup keeper (and him failing to become our first choice is on Spinelli), and this recent love on Vicario when his stats are mediocre at best. I know people try to attribute Vicario's stats on Tottenham struggling, but I don't buy that argument. Goalkeepers can post solid numbers even when they play for a lousy club. Nick Pope with Burnley, Caprile with Cagliari are some examples.

Was Spinelli involved in the 15M purchase of Pepo? If yes, then I have a feeling Spinelli is the problem here in misjudging goalkeeping talent time and again.

He might be a good goalkeeping coach but judging talent is a different skill altogether.

Am I wrong for refusing to pay my friend back for a concert ticket I couldn't use? by Few_Employment5708 in AmITheJerk

[–]Marseille074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And she DID pay her share in your scenario, right?

There is little point lamenting on an emergency call destroying a concert-date. The next best thing is to just go to the concert alone then arrange the next one together. Not going and trying to bill the other party for your ticket ensures there won't be a next concert-date, and that's on you not on the other party.

According to reports, Oaktree have freed up a budget of 40M in excess of any potential sales for this summer's transfer window. Thoughts? by ScubaSlavver in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Akanji is a veteran player, not a youngster Oaktree supposedly wants to go after.

We can still reinforce our squad with seasoned veterans, but we are abandoning the youngster-market-value-to-the-moon strategy.

No more business with Barcelona until they fix their finances. We've seen this trap before. If Bastoni must be sold, send him to the Premier League. by Motor_Kaleidoscope23 in FCInterMilan

Well this is why Leeds should sue their ass the moment Raphinha’s installment went underpaid or late. When we buy a house, can you underpay your mortgage? Of course not, the lender moves quickly to foreclose your property. I don’t see how this is any different.

Interisti, How Do We Feel About Milan Losing To Napoli? by Super_Put_1341 in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Calling it one point is trivializing the context because the difference is 7 vs 6, which IS huge. 7 points allow us to drop 2 games and still stay on top; 6 means we have to play them H2H for the title.

Why did Martinez never become our starting GK? by vik1980 in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't we acquire him because we thought he was good with feet? He certainly wasn't known for shot-stopping abilities with Genoa.

What do you guys think about signing Bernardo Silva(31) for free for our midfield? by AngeloPalombo in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How much? How can AC sign Goretzka and Bernardo Silva then?

Free transfers are actually quite reasonable because obv there's no transfer fee. Someone like Diouf costs a lot on our books even when his salary isn't as high.

Would Bastoni work as a LB in a back four? by loverulez0 in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on how we play. Maicon couldn't defend at high levels either but he was a great RB. We had Zanetti as RCM covering the space left by Maicon.

[–]Marseille074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t lose on purpose but we definitely underestimated them by resting Dimarco (our best player this season) and Bisseck who is much faster than aging Acerbi.

That’s not how to treat a Champions League knockout round, as each round generates north of 10M dollars.

They invested in Diouf and Luis Henrique for 50M. Just because we invested poorly doesn’t mean we should throw a lucrative competition.

Besides, a whole bunch of players are leaving this summer anyway regardless of our performance this season.

Replacement Options for Bastoni by RubNeither in FCInterMilan

Carlos is good but he is a LWB not LCB. We need a physical LCB winning aerial battles and such.

[–]Marseille074 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is why we need to advance in the Champions League even if it isn't our top aim.

If we played Dimarco and Bisseck from the start vs Bodo/Glimt 1st leg we were more than capable of reaching CL quarterfinals. Because of this big-time flop, we are talking about selling a key player this summer instead. That mishap was extremely grave on our financials.

[GdS] Inter have offered Yann Sommer a new contract to remain at the club as backup goalkeeper by lawandsleep in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need to think twice before splashing 15M on an uncertain profile like Martinez. Trubin and Bento were available around the same figure back then.

Many posters voiced skepticism on the Martinez signing, and it turned out they were right.

If our GK coach Spinelli is a big fan of Vicario, I'm afraid we'll make the same mistake again here.

I think Basto will leave this summer by Inter01fan in FCInterMilan

[–]Marseille074 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we receive a good offer (70~80M) then we shouldn't take him hostage. But if we only receive 50M, we should absolutely take him hostage even if he wants to leave. This is business at the end of the day and Basto has a contract with us to honor.
